Born October 6, 1942, she was the daughter of Annie Lorene Sims Fowler and the late Junior Fowler. She began her career in April, 1967, and retired in January, 2005, after 38 years of dedicated service as manager of Patient Financial Services at Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare. Mrs. McBride attended River of Life Church of God of Prophecy.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 in the Ridgely Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Clayton Mahan and Reverend Paul Adams with interment to follow in New Haven Cemetery.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church in the Bruceville Community. Reba is survived by her husband, Bro. Jerrell Dawson, two daughters: Tracie (Todd) Taylor of Halls, TN and Rhonda Dawson all of Halls, TN. Sister of six sisters: Tricia Thurmond of Gates, TN, Melba Daniel of Collinwood, TN., Ethel Holt and Judy Dean Strait both of Cypress Inn, TN., Gail Edwards of Toney, AL. and Felecia Paul of Huntsville, AL.,; She also leaves a brother, James C. "Sonny" Daniel of Collinwood, and two grandsons: Stephen Taylor and Matt Taylor both of Jackson, TN. Reba leaves several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sisters: Remona Greecy and Gennette Gorman. The funeral will be held on Wednesday March 8 at 1:00pm.at the Gates Baptist Church, Gates, TN with Rev. Ashley Thurmond officiating. Football Fan and enjoyed good times with his family. For a great start to his day, Pug would enjoy going for morning coffee with all his Roellen friends at Hilltop Grocery. Lawrence Dean Taylor, 72, of Dyersburg, TN died Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at his residence. He was the son of the late Oliver L. and Mary E. Allen Taylor. Mr. Taylor was an Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Andrea Sue Bennett Taylor of Dyersburg; one daughter, Kathy Haggerty of Ewing, MO; one son, Robert Taylor of Missouri; three sisters, Amy Cordonier of Kansas City, MO, Doris Lindey of Petersburg, IL and Teri Angel of Florida; and four grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild. A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date. Allen Hester, President & CEO of the Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber of Commerce, died Friday, February 3 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Holly Finley Hester, son Andrew Hester (Karen) of Jackson TN, daughter Sara Hester of Murray KY, stepdaughters Finley Leslie (Brandon) and Claire White of Dyersburg TN, mother June Strickland Hester, brother Howard Hester, and Sister Paula Jacquez, all of Memphis. He was preceded in death by his father William A. Hester, Sr., and a brother, John Hester. Mr. Hester is survived by two grandchildren, Evelyn and Sloan Allen Hester.

Mr. Hester was born in Memphis on June 25, 1951, the oldest of four siblings. He attended Oakhaven High School, graduating in 1969. He enrolled at what was then Memphis State University in 1969. He left college in the early 70's to pursue his lifelong interest in music; returned in the late 70's, graduating in 1980 with a degree in Journalism.

Bernard John "Bernie" Anderson, 77, of Dyersburg, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born on July 8, 1939 in Le Mars, Iowa to the late Bernard Leo Anderson and the late Myrna Mae Louise Long Anderson. Bernie was a manager of many meat companies, including Sanderson Farms. On February 14, 1959, he married Julia Tott in Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1965. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Dyersburg, a member of the Rotary Club and was also an avid golfer. Bernie worked at H&R Block in Dyersburg after his retirement.
