He was born on November 12, 1930 in Dyer County, TN. He was a retired printer and owner of Wallace Printing Company. Gene was a member of Phillips Street Church of Christ and was a wonderful Christian man. He served his Country in the U.S. Air Force and then retired from the TN Air Force National Guard with over 20 years of service.

Peacefully after a long battle with health complications at Jackson Madison County General Hospital, Bobby Steve Jones, 63, a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and brother-in-law, will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Jones was born on November 3, 1953 in Dyersburg, TN to his parents, Shirley Temple Griggs- Jones and the late Marshall Jones. He married Hyacinth Weeks in 1975. He and his wife moved to St. Louis, MO and had two sons Bobby Joe Jones and Michael Steve Jones. He worked as a truck driver. He retired in 1996 and returned to Dyersburg, TN. He loved the "Blues", played guitar, and could dance and stump like no other. He spent his remaining time reconnecting with family and enjoying life.

He is survived by two daughters: Janet Corlew of Ripley, TN and Janie Grantland of Halls, TN, and one son: Jeff Brown of Ripley, TN; Brother of three sisters: Martha Presley of McLemoresville, TN, Shirley Pool of Halls, TN and Bonnie Hutcherson of Halls, TN, and two brothers: Joe Brown of Alamo, TN and Gary Wayne Brown of Halls, TN. Tilford also leaves 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren. Tilford was a 42 year member of the Lauderdale County Rescue Squad. Louis Clifford Fumbanks III, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 in Vicksburg, MS. He was 83 years old. L.C. as he was known, was born and raised in Dyersburg. He was of the Presbyterian faith.
L.C. graduated from Dyersburg High School and received a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District, as Chief of Navigation Branch.

Anne Kirk, 84, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Dyersburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Born June 2, 1932 in Fort Worth, TX, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Marie Clark. She was a retired principal in the Dyer County School System and member of First United Methodist Church. Kirk joined Dyer County Schools in 1972 as an elementary teacher. In 1976, she took the role of principal of RoEllen Elementary School. She was the first female principal hired in the school system in 1976. She then served as principal of Fifth Consolidated from 1979 to 1990, when she retired from the system. Anne was a well- respected principal and role model for other educators, parents and students. She helped establish the Adopt-A-School program. She avidly supported the Dyer County Union Mission, Children Services Child Abuse Team, National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, and The Hope House. Her hobbies included reading, traveling, and gardening.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2016 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Ed White and Reverend Dell King with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.
