Janice Cook Butler Ernest, 62, died on November 10, 2015, at her home in Millington, Tennessee, after a courageous battle with cancer. Janice was born in Dyersburg, Tennessee, on December 11, 1952. She was the daughter of the late Boyd Cook and Rebecca Foster Cook. She graduated from Dyersburg High School and received her bachelors degree from the University of Memphis. She was a longtime member of International Association of Administrative Professionals. Janice is survived by her husband of twenty five years, Darrell Ernest, and her children James Lee Butler II, of Memphis, Jason Peyton Butler (Regina) of Memphis, and Jackie Butler Ryan (Jeremy) of Collierville, Tennessee and her grandchildren Katelyn Butler, Lauren Butler Flowers, Haley Butler, Preston Butler, Sara Chrestman, Austin Woodard, Hunter Woodard, Madelyn Paige Woodard, and Kali Ryan. She is survived by two sisters Linda Cook Cocchetto (David) of Durham, NC and Velma Cook Estes (Mel) of Cary, NC and three brothers Dr. Thomas Cook (Gerry) of Evansville, IN, Paul Boyd Cook (Gail) of Dyersburg, and Roy Allen Cook (Millie Bo) of Arlington, TN, brothers-in-law Mike Ernest (Linda) of Atlanta and Greg Ernest (Pat) of Senatobia, MS, many cousins, nieces and nephews, and the father of her children Jim Butler (Susan) of Bartlett, Tennessee. Visitation will be from 4pm-6pm on Saturday, December 5, at Curry Funeral Home in Dyersburg, TN. There will be a private family service in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg. He is the son of Thomas Lee and Patsy Waterson Stewart. He married Tammy Byrd. Marty was an Automitive Restorer. He is survived by his wife: Tabitha "Tammy" (Byrd) Stewart , one daughter: Megan Stewart of Ripley, TN and two sons: Curtis Stewart of Ripley, TN, Jody Climer of Ripley, TN. Brother of one brother: Johnny Stewart of Ripley, TN; He also has one grandchild, Jaxon Climer; and one on the way. Predeceased by his brother, Tim Stewart, Grand Child, Willow Stewart, Grand Child, Jade Stewart, Grand Child, Baby Stewart. Burial will be in the Family Cemetery Monday, November 30th. at 10 am. Mr. Charles was a certified public accountant. He and his best friend, Charles Dawson, were the "Voice of the Trojans" radio broadcasters for over 30 years at Dyersburg High School. He was a former member of the Dyer County Fair Board, a Dixie Youth Baseball Coach for over 10 years, was a former member of the James Gang Bowling League and enjoyed golfing with his son. Charles was saved at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis. He was a loving father and grandfather, whom they called "Big Daddy". He always supported every activity they were involved in. His favorite place was Sandestin, FL, where he and his family visited every summer. Charles served in the Army National Guard.

Ms. Robbins was a member, Sunday School Teacher and choir member at Harvest Baptist Church and was a member of The Eastern Star. She was a 1945 graduate of Lake County High School, where she was Valedictorian of her class. Ms. Virginia was the former co-owner of Robbins American Service Station and worked in management for 33 years with Wal-Mart, retiring at the age of 77. She was active in the Brownies, Girl Scouts, Rainbows and the Dyersburg High School Band. Ms. Virginia was a devoted wife, mother and Christian.

Born and raised in Dyersburg, Tennessee to her parents, Lawrence (1951) and Sally (1948) Criswell; she was their last living child, preceded in death by one sister and nine brothers.

Marie married Norris J. Lavender (1993) and they had one daughter. She was a dedicated employee of Dyersburg Cotton Products for over 35 years until retiring in 1987. As a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church for 65 years, she loved her fellowship family and the endless support they provided. In retirement, Marie enjoyed social gatherings at the Senior Center, sewing and her weekly exercise classes.

Dr. Robert Lee Harrington, 80, of Dyersburg, died Friday, October 23, 2015 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Born October 21, 1935 in Humboldt, TN, he was the son of the late Robert Brandon and Evelyn Draper Harrington, he was a retired OB/GYN. Dr. Harrington was drafted into the US Navy before starting his practice in Donaldson and then coming to The Women's Clinic in Dyersburg in 1966. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a former member of the Chancel Choir and Men's Quartet. Dr. Harrington was an Eagle Scout, as was his son and grandson; the first 3 generation Eagle Scout in Dyer County. He was a Board member at McIver's Grant Public Library and was former chairman of the foundation committee. He was an avid Tennessee football fan. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church conducted by Reverend Ed White and Reverend Dell King. Dr. James H. Smith, 76, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Methodist Lebonheur Germantown. Born April 7, 1939 to the late Raleigh Nevin and Louise Heacker Smith in Oliver Springs, TN. He attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and graduated from UT College of Medicine in 1964. Dr. Smith was a retired Internal Medicine Physician and was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church. He was recruited to Dyersburg in 1969 by Dr. Jimmy Noonan and practiced with Dr. W.I. Thornton, Dr. William Craddock, Dr. William Murray and Dr. Don Connell. In 1975, Internal Medicine Clinic was formed by Dr. Doug Haynes, Dr. Ralph Reynolds, Dr. Jimmy Noonan, Dr. Dan Green and Dr. Smith. Two years later, Dr. Robin Algee joined the group. He practiced and saw patients at Parkview Hospital, Dyersburg Regional Medical Center, which is now Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional. Dr. Smith served on the board of the Dyer County Health Department. He also worked, after retirement, at the Lake County Correctional Facility in Tiptonville. He was a long time member of the Antique Car Club. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church conducted by Reverend Gary Meade. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in the Wheeler Room at St. Mary's Episcopal Church. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Donna Miles Smith; his daughter, Joanna Smith Priester (Brad) of Jackson; his son, Joseph Nevin Smith (Joanna) of Germantown; 2 sisters, Virginia Haydon (Troy) of Loudon, TN, Susan Lowman (Bruce) of Franklin; 3 brothers, Dr. David Smith (Debbie) of Knoxville, Dr. Mike Smith (Rene) of Bartlett, Dr. Steve Smith (Margie) of Oliver Springs; his sister-in-law, Delores Smith of Newport; and 3 grandchildren, Halle Priester, Hannah Smith and Allie Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Bob Smith. Dolphus, a former resident of Dyersburg, TN, moved to Germantown 8 years ago to live with his daughter, Vicki Reasons Rosenberg and her husband, Louis. Dolphus was married for over 50 year to his loving wife Sarah Reasons, who preceded him in death in 1995. Dolphus served his country while serving as a sergeant (Army) in Europe after the Normandy invasion. He loved farming and everything associated with his work. He mostly loved the many years that he was able to work with his two brothers, James (Lila) and Gerald (Virginia) Reasons, both of Dyersburg. Both brothers predeceased Dolphus. He was a lifelong member of Finley Methodist Church. Graveside services for Mr. Reasons will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Fairview Cemetery. Nyoka was a Christian and a member of Elon Baptist Church. Nyoka was preceded in death by a son, Robbie Gillon, her parents Robert L. and Kathryn Lawrence and a sister Dorothy Lawrence. She is survived by her husband Mike Ottinger, her son and his wife, Johnny and Tina Gillon, all of Gates. Tina was like a daughter to Nyoka. She also leaves two stepsons, Jonathan (Gina) Ottinger and Sean Ottinger of Greeneville, six grandchildren, Drew Blakely of Ripley, Robert Gillon, Hayden Childress, Zach Gillon of Gates, Miranda (Carl) McGee of Greeneville and Cody Ottinger of California. Nyoka also survived by five great-grandchildren. She is survived by her Mother-In-Law Kathleen W. Ottinger and five brothers-in-law, Steve (Martha)Ottinger, Hal (Sandy) Ottinger, David (Gina) Ottinger, Phillip (Teri) Ottinger all of Greeneville, Kevin Ottinger of Newport and a sister-in-law, Kathy McCrary also of Greeneville. Nyoka is also survived by other relatives and friends, many lifelong. Nyoka was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be sorely missed by her husband and family. Debra Doedtman, 56, of Dyersburg died Monday, September 28, 2015 at Baptist Hospital East, Memphis. Born August 14, 1959 to Norma Jean Moody and the late Eulis Moody, she was a member of the McCullough's Chapel Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing and embroidery. The loves of her life were her family and her grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 6:30 pm, Friday, October 2, 2015 in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home. She is survived by her husband Toby Doedtman; three daughters: April Kimbrell Newby of Dyersburg, TN, Terra Folk of Pontiac, IL, and Michelle Owen of Montrose, IL; three sons: Tony Kimbrell and Joshua Doedtman of Dyersburg, TN, and Ryan Doedtman of Effingham, IL; two sisters: Jennie Mancell and Barbara Campbell of Dyersburg, TN; and her brother Bill Moody of Newbern, TN; and five grandchildren: Felicia Kimbrell, Destiny Kimbrell, Taylor Kimbrell, Carson Folk and Isaac Owen. She was preceded in death by her father Eulis Moody.
