He worked as a supervisor in the lab department at Colonial Rubber and was a Baptist by faith. Rickey had a passion for hunting, golfing, and baseball, especially as a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He will be remembered fondly by those who knew him. Rickey proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Jim was born on August 16, 1950, in Lonoke County, Arkansas, to the late Doyle William Curran and the late Dixie Helen (Griggs) Curran. He lived a vibrant life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Jim leaves behind a legacy of love and family that will echo through the generations. He is survived by his loving companion, Brenda Reese, and a cherished family that includes five daughters: Christy (Claudia Pearson) Lubben of Holladay, TN, Krista (Stephen) Brasher of Knob Noster, MO, Elizabeth (William) George of Vero Beach, FL, Alyssa (Scott) Hunter of Vero Beach, FL, and Tara Sayre of Vero Beach, FL. Also mourning his loss are his two sons, James "WK" (Nicole Schneeberg) Curran of Vero Beach, FL, and David M. (Sherry) Rudd of Troy, TN, along with five sisters: Sue Jones of Halls, TN, Doris Lewis of Bruceton, TN, Helen Thrasher of Halls, TN, Cathy Crans of Dyersburg, TN, and Janie (Page) Latham of Ripley, TN. He is further survived by four brothers: Mike (Vicki) Curran of Halls, TN, Wayne (Susan) Curran of Halls, TN, Tommy (Dorothy) Curran of Halls, TN, and Billy (Sharon) Curran of Dyersburg, TN, along with sixteen grandchildren and seventeen plus one on the way great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored deeply.

Bud Wallace, age 79, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, June 26, 2025.

Born on May 11, 1946, in Lenox, TN, Bud was the beloved son of the late George and Ernestine "Teenie" Pate Wallace. A 1964 graduate of Dyersburg High School, Bud went on to have a successful career as a technician for BellSouth Telecommunications. He was a man of great faith, serving as a deacon and charter member at Three Oaks Baptist Church for 29 years. Bud proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era with the United States Air Force, a testament to his dedication and patriotism. He was a man loved by every person he met, known for his big love for his friends and family. Bud cherished his time duck hunting, fishing, and taking beach trips, and he especially loved riding around in his golf cart with his sweetheart. Bud's legacy is one of love and faith, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mrs. Patricia Elaine Hendrix, of Dyersburg, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025, at her home. Pat was born March 30, 1951 in Albertville, AL to the late Rev. Billy R. and Peggy Hedgepath. She studied and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Smithville, TN before coming to Dyersburg, where she was the circulation clerk for the State Gazette Newspaper. She was a devoted member of the Dyersburg Church of God and her faith was a key part of her life, including bible study and prayer meetings. She particularly enjoyed trips to Alabama to visit her extended family and to Branson, MO, where a favorite destination was the Sight & Sound Theatre for their incredible bible-based shows.

Pat is survived by her husband, Calvin Hendrix, her daughter Emily Hohneck and husband, Danny and was greatly loved as "NaNa" by her granddaughter Eva Hohneck. The family are grateful to Mrs. Merida Martin, who was Pat's caregiver for over 13 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother George Hedgepath and sisters Debra Hedgepath and Becky Gilbert.

Throughout her life, she worked as a medical office manager and supported her husband's work as a Church of Christ minister. They worked together for many years in the operation of the Skyline Christian Youth Camp. Her Christian faith and her family were the pillars of her life. Church attendance, studying scripture and listening to gospel music were things she held as important. She enjoyed golf in her younger years and later gardening and cooking, especially seafood.

Bonita is survived by her sons Stephen Conner and wife, Robin, of Dyersburg, TN and Mark Conner and wife, Holly of Lebanon, TN and she was loved as Mimi or Grandmother by her grandchildren, Mary Grace Foster and husband, Logan, JonEvin Conner and Hunter Conner, a great-granddaughter Eden Conner and her niece and caregiver, Jo Ann Bentz. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Travis Conner, her parents and her brothers James and Bill Wright and sisters Judy Bentz and Betty Williams.

Scotty was a farmer and owner of Side Street Grill food truck. He was the best Papa to his girls and was always one of the first people who volunteered for a benefit for those in need. He was also known as the Candy Man for his famous brittle and holiday candy. Those who knew and loved him will surely miss his daily early morning “Good Morning” coffee posts on Facebook.

Timothy "Tim" Lynn Adkins, a beloved father, brother, grandfather and friend, who departed from this world on June 20, 2025, at the age of 55. Tim was born on May 31, 1970, in Ripley, TN, to late Ralph Daniel Adkins and the late Phylis Jean (Lee) Langley.

He is survived by his three cherished daughters, Tiffany (Cole) Cessac of Henning, TN, Tamara (Brad) Williams of Gates, TN, and Tara Smith of Illinois. Additionally, his legacy will continue through his two sons, Austin (Hope) Adkins of Halls, TN, and Jason Savelli of Memphis, TN, as well as his loving two sisters, Karen Johnson of Dyersburg, TN and Lee Beard of Ripley, TN and his one brother, Michael (Paula) Adkins, of Ripley, TN. Tim was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren, with two more on the way, and he adored every moment spent with them, often referring to them as his "g-babies."

He was a graduate of Dyersburg High School and the University of Tennessee-Martin where he studied business and finance. Through his lifelong career in accounting, he worked with local businesses and individuals including area Q-Mart stores and Centex / Forcum-Lannom Contractors as controller and equipment manager. He and his family also enjoyed operating The Brass Bit Western Store in Dyersburg. Tim is remembered as "Trader-Vick" because he was always looking for something to buy or had something for sale. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying dove and duck hunting and raising and training horses. He loved that Dyer County was his home and was active in local organizations as treasurer for the local Ducks Unlimited Committee, a youth sports coach and member of the Dyersburg Kiwanis Club. He was a devoted member of West Dyersburg Church of Christ where his family worshipped, and he served as a Deacon for over 20 years and a Bible school teacher.

Tim is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joy McAlister Vick, his sons Tyler Vick and wife, Tara and Kyle and wife, Meaganne and was loved as "Pop or PaPa" by his grandchildren, Nate, Addie Kate, Addison and Millie Pate Vick.

Mr. Gerald "Jerry" Kenneth Daniel, of Fowlkes, TN, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at his home. Jerry was born March 7, 1943 in Hardeman County, TN to the late Owen and Louise Daniel. He proudly served in the United States Army before returning to pursue degrees in education and counseling. He was a school teacher before beginning a 40 year career with the Tennessee Department of Corrections. In his youth, Jerry and his brother played in a local band and his love of collecting and playing guitars endured throughout all his years. He was a member of Phillips Street Church of God in Dyersburg. In his time away from work, Jerry was very active. He enjoyed cross-country travel, fishing and holiday trips to Reelfoot Lake and was a collector of caps and hats. He dedicated himself to his family, always making sure that even the smallest needs were met and was always filming or taking photos during family gatherings and holidays. He is remembered for his green thumb and the gardens he tended, and loved rides on his John Deere Gator, which always carried everything he would need in the yard.

Jerry is survived by his wife, of 42 years, Nina Daniel, his step-daughters Ninette Williams and husband, Sammie, of Dyersburg and Tammy Thurmond and husband, Kenny, of Friendship. He was greatly loved as "Jerr-O" by his grandchildren Chad & Shawna Williams and Cody & Molly Williams, all of Dyersburg, Thomas Thurmond of San Antonio, TX, Kyle & Katie Thurmond of Friendship, Courtney Smith and Owen & Meagan Daniel, all of Searcy, AR, Charity Daniel, Michelle Wood and Billy Joe West, all of Bolivar, TN and many great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Donald "Don" and Ronald "Ronnie" Daniel, his son, Kenneth Daniel and daughter, Kay West.

Dianne was met in Heaven by her late daughter, Angela “Gigi” Pafford, but is survived by daughter Georgia Ann Taylor and husband, Fletcher, son-in-law Billy Pafford and wife, Cristal. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Davis Pafford, Elizabeth Pafford Martin (David), Cannon Taylor, and Georgia Annabelle Taylor, great-grandchildren, Corbin and Cash Martin, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition, she leaves behind her companion of 35 years, Wayne Elmore.

She was an avid reader, spending her time at the local library and was a fan of investigative television shows. She enjoyed gardening and sharing the strawberries that she grew. Her Christian faith showed through her attendance of local church services and watching church broadcasts later in life.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Claude B. Simmons, sons Mike Daniels (Selena), Randy Simmons, Timmy Simmons (Patricia), daughter Lisa French and brother Ricky Robbins and sisters Sandra Kaye Hall (Bobby), Helen June Barker Perkins and Peggy June Waddell. She was greatly loved as Grandmaw and Mamaw, always looking forward to visits from her grandchildren Tommie Sue Childress (Jimmy), Kevin Daniels, J.P. Daniels, Misty Fleming Anderson, Brandi Williamson, Johnny "JoJo" Williamson (Marie), James Pickard (Lori), Michael Pickard, Jeremy Pickard, Jackie Kirk, Jason Butler, Jere Blalock, Barry Daniels (Brianna) Cassie Brezenski (Aaron) Amanda Bryant, Randy Simmons and Huston Simmons and her many great-grandchildren. Dr. Keith Legan, 92, of Dyersburg, TN died Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Marcus Legan and Edith Luranda Blackburn, his daughter, Sandra Thompson, his grandson Brian Busch and his sister Wilda Billings.

He graduated from Kennett High School in 1950. He played trumpet in the high school band and played on the Kennett High school football, baseball and track team. He held the high jump record at Kennett High for 17 years. Dr. Legan attended the University of Missouri-Columbia majoring in chemistry and graduating in 1954. He went on to medical school at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He did internship and residency at several places including the University of Missouri, the Naval Hospital in Oakland, California and ultimately finishing his general surgery residency at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital in Bronx, NY. Dr. Legan had a long military career as a physician serving initially in the Air Force in Waco, Texas, Oakland, California and Tainan, Taiwan. He left the Air Force and went into private practice in Kennett, Missouri from 1966 through 1980. After this he decided to continue military service with the US Navy. He served over the next 20 years at many bases and on many ships. His stations included Norfolk, VA, Jacksonville, FL, Bethesda, MD, Millington, TN, San Diego, CA, and Naples, Italy. He served on the USS Nimitz, USS Kennedy and USS Tarawa. He also served in the first gulf war, Operation Desert Storm. He attained the rank of Captain in the US Navy and received many awards for his service. He retired from the Navy and Medical practice in 2000 and moved to Dyersburg, TN in 2001 where he lived for the next 23 years.

Clyde was born May 27, 1947 in Jackson TN to the late Herbert Clyde Thompson, Sr. and Dorothy Thompson. Through the years, he worked in insurance sales and positions with Colonial Rubber and Dr Pepper-Pepsi of Dyersburg. Later in his life, he began a career in car sales that spanned 52 years, mostly with Delta Auto Sales. His most important work began when he was ordained to Gospel Ministry, preaching for 42 years at Parrish Chapel Baptist Church near Friendship. In his free time, Clyde enjoyed fishing and coaching teams in local church and girl's softball leagues and was an avid and accomplished golfer. His devotion to his family is lovingly celebrated.

Clyde is survived by his wife, Janie Mae Thompson, his daughter Amy Kolwyck and husband, Chris, his brothers Brad Britton and wife, Linda, Mike Thompson and wife, Shelia and Barry Thompson and wife, Camille and sisters Shelia Epperson and husband, George and Missy Thompson and several nieces and nephews. He was greatly loved as "Pop" and "Poppy" by his grandchildren, Brad Kolwyck and wife, Kelly and Bethany Green. He treasured time spent with his great-grandchildren and was "PawPaw" to Landon Hart Brown, Tucker Green, Maddox and Corbin Kolwyck and Knox Green. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jerry Thompson, a nephew Grant Epperson and a niece Andrea Beasley and her son Logan.

Janice was a devoted wife and mother, who enjoyed all aspects of work around her home. She was an accomplished cook, seamstress, upholsterer and did many of her own home repairs including electrical and plumbing work. Outside of her home, she worked for many years in production with Thomas Lighting Company in Dyersburg. She and her husband, Billy J. Taylor were charter members of Three Oaks Chapel Baptist Church. In her later years, she loved time spent caring for her grandchildren in the years before they started school.

Janice is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Mathis and husband, Tom and Janene Burkhead and husband, Joel, all of Dyersburg, a brother, Ronnie White and sisters Libby Davis, Mary Blalock, Brenda Spangler and Lynn Batey and was loved as "Grandmaw" by her grandchildren, Mallory Jackson, Cara Hassell, Kristen Lanier, Ally Burkhead and Zane, Jack & John Mathis. She was proud to be "MawMaw" to her great-grandchildren, Landon Burnette, Wyatt & Will Jackson, Tucker & Adelyn Hassell and Avy Mathis. Together, they have a beautiful family that includes three daughters: Jessica Jackson of Ripley, TN, Kelly Jackson of Humboldt, TN, and Tracy Scott Jackson of Brownsville, TN; and three sons: Doug Jackson of Humboldt, TN, Bobby Jackson of Texas, and Jerry Fitzhugh Jr. of Henderson, TN. He is also survived by his loving sister, Shirley Tillman of Atoka, TN, along with 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom he adored and cherished deeply.
