Eddie was born September 19, 1956 in Memphis, TN. He is the son of the late Edgar Albert and the late Lois (Strickland) Morris Sr. He was Co-owner of Ripley Parts and Tire in Ripley, TN. Eddie is survived by his wife: Rebecca Jane Morris, one daughter: April Morris Merando of Trenton, TN and one son: Edgar Morris III of Arp, TN. He is also survived by two sisters, Margie Gaines and Janie Morris and one brother, Paul Morris all of Central. Eddie also leaves behind four grandchildren, Ethan Merando, Edgar Morris IV, Aiden Merando and Evan Morris. Eddie was preceded in death by his step-mom Mary Morris and sister Paula Sisson. Bill leaves two sisters: Angie Harris of Halls, TN and Amy Harris Jacobs of Atoka, TN, and one brother: Rob Harris of Gates, TN. On Friday, January 15, 2021, John Thomas Bratton Jinkins passed away at the age of 79. John, also known as Jack in his hometown of Dyersburg, TN, was born on May 21, 1941. He grew up on Parkview Street with his siblings Jim, Mary Laura, Bill, and Bob.

John served in the Navy in Vietnam, The Philippines, and many other locations. After his active military service concluded, he continued to serve for many years in the reserves as a Lieutenant. A Memphis State graduate, he had a varied career that incorporated his love for technology and military service. Oftentimes working on ships, his tasks varied from Systems Analyst and Systems Administrator to Chief Radio Officer and Chief Electronics Officer as he worked with several shipping, technology, and defense companies, in tandem with American Maritime Officers, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Defense, and several branches of the military.

He is also survived by four grandchildren: Meghan Peace, Zella Gates, Josline Henderson and Noah Scott Henderson and two great-grandchildren: Ceree Peace and John Davis Peace. Ms. Ruth Martin, age 90, of Halls passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021. Ms. Ruth was born March 26, 1930 in Brownsville, TN. She is the daughter of the late Robert and the late Ellie Clark. Ms. Ruth, as she was affectionately known, was a long time business woman. She owned and operated several businesses successfully during her life in Halls. Ms. Ruth started with the flower shop followed by a beauty shop and tanning salon. Along with her late husband, Mr. Thomas they also ran a custom frame shop. She was a long time member of the First Christian Church of Halls. She is survived by her daughter, Sharlene and husband Mike Moore of Memphis; son Tom Martin and wife Carol of Cadiz, Ky; sister Ms. Bobbie Jean Emerson of Halls. Ms. Ruth is also survived by three granddaughters: Margaret and husband Daniel Mosser, Claire and husband Dave Alexander and Meredith Moore and three great grandchildren. The family request that memorials be made to the charity of the donor's choice in her memory. A graveside service will be held on January 12, 2021 in the Halls Cemetery at 11:00am. Her son, Tom Martin, will officiate. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date that the family feels is safe. Covid-19 precautions and mandates are to be followed. He was an avid hunter. He was a volunteer with the Finley Fire Department for over 20 years.

He was born in Gadsden, AL on June 17, 1938 to Mabel & Milton Conner. He married Bonita Wright on June 8, 1958 and they had two sons, Stephen Eric Conner (Robin) and Mark Alan Conner (Holly). His is also survived by his three grandchildren, Hunter Reid Conner(Hailey), Mary Grace Conner & JonEvin Oliver Conner and one great-grandchild, Eden Conner. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wendell Yoeman Conner.

Travis graduated from the University of Alabama in 1960 with a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering and went to work with Republic Steel in Gadsden Al. After working there for three years, he decided to start preaching full-time. He preached the Gospel for over fifty-three years and brought many souls to Christ. He has preached in Decatur, AL, Talladega, AL, LaGrange, GA, Childersburg, AL, Shelbyville, TN, Saks AL, Jacksonville, AL, Snead, AL and Gordo, AL. He was the director of Skyline Christian Youth Camp for over forty years. He loved working with young people and had an influence on so many lives. He is now with the Lord, at rest from his labors.

Alvin Gerald Reed, 75, left this world on December 31, 2020 to go to his Heavenly Home. Visitation will be 12pm-1:30pm, Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Dyersburg Funeral Home. Services will be 1:30pm at Dyersburg Funeral Home, followed by graveside at Rehoboth Church Cemetery.

Gerald Reed was born in Dyersburg, Tennessee, to the late Alvin and Lucille Reed. After graduating from Dyersburg High School, he went on to study business at University of Tennessee at Martin, where he played college baseball. He married Terrie Frances Hill in 1965, and later served in the Army National Guard. In 1969, he started working for Woodmen Life Insurance, where he dedicated many years of his life. During his time as Regional Director and President of TN Life Underwriters, he was recognized throughout his career with various rewards and honors, as well as devoting time to raising funds for various charities and school sports programs. In 2006, he retired from Woodmen to pursue his hobbies of hunting, fishing, gardening and cooking. Gerald was an active member of Fannin United Methodist Church, where he served several roles within his church family. Gerald, affectionately known as G man or Grand G, will be remembered for his telling of stories and jokes, daily trips to "K"rogers and the many meals he cooked for his beloved family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Lera Pearl Hanna, 93, on December 31, 2020 at AHC Healthcare in Dyersburg TN due to a very short battle with Covid. She was born August 30, 1927 in Sardis, TN to the late Enoch McBride and Daisy Hamm McBride. Mrs. Hanna was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who had the pleasure to know her. Her biggest treasure was her family and she loved them all dearly and embraced every moment she had with them. She married James Hanna on June 19, 1945, who preceded her in death in 1997 after being married for nearly 52 years.

Mrs. Hanna lived most of her adult life in Lake County and was a member of Wynnburg Baptist Church and a lifelong member of the local Eastern Star Chapter. Her life was a living example of Ephesians 4:32 – "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ."

He was a devoted family-man and enjoyed hunting and especially talking to his friends & anyone he met. He and Dianne McKinney were married from 1969 until her passing in 2010. He is survived by his wife, Madie Farley since 2011. He is also survived by a daughter, Sonya Covington (Russell) of Tiptonville, step-sons, Mark Farley (Marsha) of Gleason, Chris Farley (Darla) of Trenton and Randy Farley (Kim) of Atwood, his brother, Jimmy Watts (Lexie) and sister Lou Cunningham (Ed) all of Kansas City, Mo. And his grandchildren, John Russell and Ryan Covington, of Tiptonville. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dianne; his parents; and four brothers and two sisters.

Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020 at Lake Memorial Gardens in Tiptonville at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Chuck Graham. Pallbearers will be John Russell Covington, Tommy Watts, Russell Covington, Warren Douglas, Larry Watts & Corey Morgan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Leonard Douglas, John Fields, Johnny Turner & Junior Perkins.

Mary was born on August 8, 1937, in Tupelo, MS, to the late, Wesley and Mary Elizabeth Burcham Glass. She was a homemaker and attended First United Pentecostal Church in Dyersburg.
