He also leaves behind one Niece, three Nephews and one great Nephew. The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, August 14 at Halls Funeral Home, 109 N. Church St., Halls, TN with Bro. Mr. George Edward White Sr., age 85, of Newbern, TN passed away Wednesday at West TN Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

George was born on June 4, 1936 in the Chic community to the late George Elvin White and Kate Louise May White. He was a retired truck driver for Forcum Lannom Contractors. He has many passions and hobbies in life that included hunting, fishing and metal detecting just to name a few. He loved tinkering with Ham and CB radios. He was a technical class Ham radio operator and his radio call sign was KI4OUG. George was also a lifetime member of the NRA and even had his own You-tube channel called "Cornbread Jack". He was a den leader for his sons local cub scout group and served as a role model to everyone he met. George also loved motorcycles and eating. One of his proudest moments was when he received his GED at the age of 76. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Tidwell, Sr. Little Joe was the owner of Chandlers Family Haircare for 42 years. He was three time Past Master of the Haller Lodge F&AM of Halls #564. He was also a plural member of Hess Lodge #93 for 30+ years. Joe was an avid hunter.

William Polk Glover, age 83, was born in Union City and resided in Obion, Tennessee. He died on August 9, 2021, at Dyersburg Hospital. The son of the late Dale Francis Glover and Mary Elizabeth Beaird Glover, he was a 1961 graduate of Union University where he met his future wife, the late Pauline "Polly" Stone Glover. August 13 th will mark their 60 th wedding anniversary, the first they have celebrated together in 21 years. While at Union he was a cheerleader, member of Alpha Tau Omega and later followed in his father and grandfather's footsteps as a member of the Union Board of Trustees serving for several terms before being name a trustee emeritus. Polk has been inducted into Union's 21st Century Society and received the Distinguished Service Award and Union Family Legacy Award.

Following college, he returned to Obion to begin his life of community service and farming career, eventually taking over management of Glover Farming Co. He was active in First Baptist Church of Obion where he served as a deacon, church treasurer and assistant Sunday School teacher as well as member of Beulah Baptist Association Board and Gideons.

Born April 5, 1928, he is the son of the late Daniel Roy Fowlkes, Sr. and Mary Virginia Banks Fowlkes. Mr. Fowlkes was a retired Insurance Adjuster and Sales and a life-long member of Dyersburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He lived a long and wonderful life with family who loved him and good friends who shared many happy times. He loved the Lord, his church and his family. All who knew him knew of his love for fishing. Hardly a day passed that he wasnt out on the lake enjoying the beauty of the day and his quest for a fish. He will be missed by all who loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2021 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Annetta Camp with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Ina Claire Ashley, age 89 of Nashville, Tennessee, formerly of Dyersburg, passed away on August 3, 2021, following a brief illness. Ina was born in Covington, Tennessee on February 7, 1932 to Thomas and Earline (Temple) Klutts. A graduate of Byars-Hall High School, Ina excelled on the basketball court where she earned the nickname “the Blonde Terror”. She was twice named Miss Tipton County. Following graduation, she began modeling for Goldsmiths Department Store in Memphis. In 1955, shortly after the death of her first husband, Clarance T. Poindexter, Jr., Ina traveled from Tennessee to Hollywood, California to visit an aunt. Ultimately she moved to the city after several promising auditions. In 1956, Ina was named one of the Wampus Baby Stars. During her time in Hollywood, she performed at the Pasadena Playhouse alongside other actors, including a young Clint Eastwood. She had a role in the 1956 blockbuster “GIANT”. A year earlier she and her friends Debbie Reynolds and Ruta Lee helped found The Thalians, a Hollywood-based civic organization devoted to promoting mental health. On the small screen, Ina was featured in the popular television show “The Millionaire” and following her return to Memphis, she hosted the locally produced “Dance Party”, along with Wink Martindale. During her time on “Dance Party”, she interviewed several well-known singers, including Johnny Cash.

On August 8, 1958, Ina married John Barret Ashley of Dyersburg, Tennessee. Ina embraced a new Christfilled life in Dyersburg, thanks to the fellowship of several close friends. She had a passion for lost souls that led her to start Bible studies and witness to all who would listen. Ina was active with and loved her church family at Holy Hills. During her later years, she moved to Nashville to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Her love for people and the gospel brought much joy as she gathered with new friends, acquaintances, and a new church family at Nolensville Road Baptist Church. She loved to paraphrase verses from Psalms 90, “our lives are like a tale that is told and then we fly away”.

He served as an elder at the Cat Corner Church and then went on to serve as elder for 22 years at West Dyersburg Church of Christ. Daniel served on the Board of the State of Tennessee Soil Conservation for 12 years, the Dyer County Soil Conservation and the Bogota Drainage Boards. He served as director on the Board for Farm Bureau, the PCA, FHA and Reelfoot Youth Camp. Daniel proudly served his country in the Army Air Force during WWII and the Korean War.

He is survived by his parents, Lori & Jason Denman and his brothers, Micah & Joshua and sister, EmiJoy Denman. He was greatly loved by his grandparents, David & Sena Denman and Charles & Susan Halliburton as well as many aunts, uncles and extended family members.

Edie Harris Ford, 90, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, July 18, 2021 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg. Edie was born May 30, 1931 at her grandparents home in Newbern, TN to A.G. Harris, Jr. and M. Porter Harris. She was an active member of the Dyersburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church since 1952 where she served in numerous ways including as President of the Lydia Circle and as a Deacon and Elder. Edie grew up in Lake County where she was crowned Miss Tiptonville and Miss Ridgely. She graduated from Dyersburg High School in 1949 and attended Harriet Sophie Newcomb College of Tulane University where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and a cheerleader for Tulane University. She was the first National Soybean Festival Queen in 1948. She married her high school sweetheart Jere B. Ford in 1951. She dedicated herself to being a wife and mother. She served as President of the Cotillion Club, Cub Scout Leader, Girl Scout Leader, Four Seasons Garden Club Member, McDowell Music Club, National LOGOS Board of Directors and was a member of her beloved Sewing Circle. Her hobbies included needlework, bridge, and dancing. Her gift was helping people including her visitation ministry.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2021 at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church officiated by Reverend Dr. Cory D. Williams and Reverend Annetta Camp with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

He worked for the Dresser Company in Louisiana before returning to Dyersburg and working for Bekaert Inc. as a maintenance mechanic. He was an accomplished woodworker and loved sharing his projects with family and friends. He also was an avid pool player and loved sports.

He is survived by his son and daughter, Samuel Lewis Bush & Michelle Lee Bush, his former wife & devoted friend, Rachel Bush, all of Dyersburg, as well as several beloved cousins.
