Moody was born on December 20, 1936 to the late Thomas Elvis Reasons and Elsie Ann Binkley Reasons. He was retired from Colonial Rubber Works after 38 years. After his retirement he enjoyed woodworking and built many beautiful martin houses and porch swings. He was a member of the Gospel Heaven's Echo for several years and coached little league baseball for a number of years. He was a long tome supporter of Shriners for Children.

Virginia Jo Suggs Green of Dyersburg died at her home surrounded by family and friends on September 4, 2021. Mrs. Green was 90 years old. She was born in Trion, Georgia on September 3, 1931 to Otis Lee and Susie Anderson Suggs and moved to Chattanooga as a child. After graduating from Chattanooga Central High School, she attended the University of Chattanooga and later worked as a laboratory technician at Erlanger Hospital where she met her husband of 62 years, Dr. James P. Green. They were married in November of 1952 and moved home to Dyersburg in 1956 after Dr. Green's military service.
Mrs. Green was a member of the Dyersburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church, teaching the Crusaders Sunday School class for many years and was past chairman of the Bontheo Circle. She was actively involved in Girl Scouts and multiple charitable organizations including the Dyersburg Cotillion Club and Dyersburg Union Mission Auxiliary where she oversaw bake sales and summer camps.

Donna was born on May 8. 1950, in Dyersburg, to the late Donald and Amy Adelene Hannah Chambers. She was married to Phillip Edwards for 21 years who survives her. Donna worked as a fedline operator at Security Bank for 12 years. She was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she loved and enjoyed her church family. Donna retired from Met-Life Insurance Company, after working there for 19 years. She was a member of the Class of 1968 at Dyersburg High School. She was an avid sports fan, loving her TN Vols basketball and football teams. She loved to travel with her family and friends, and she was happiest hosting her family and friends for gatherings and meals. Donna especially loved her grandchildren.

Mr. Danny Hollingsworth passed away Saturday, Aug 28, 2021, at his home in Newbern, TN surrounded by his family. Danny was the youngest son of the late Leslie and Louise Hollingsworth.
Danny believed in working hard. He owned and operated a drywall business and cattle farm for 45years. Upon retirement, he invested in residential properties and managed them with his wife and son. Danny served his country from 1969-1971 in the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge for his national service.

Ike was born on May 29, 1937, in San Francisco, CA, to the late, Felton Ware and Eulala M. Ware of Gadsden, AL. Ike served in the United States Navy for 22 years, working in the aviation field and was a course supervisor teaching aviation structural mechanics at the Naval Base in Millington. After retiring from the Navy, he became a general contractor and enjoyed building as well as renovating many homes and churches in Dyersburg and West Tennessee area. Ike was a master carpenter who enjoyed his work and took pride in knowing he built a solid, well structured-home. He served as a Deacon at Southside Baptist Church and attended Trenton First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bailey attended Divine Savior High School and Junior College in Milwaukee, WI. She graduated from Alverno College of Music in Milwaukee, WI with a double major in Music Education and Liturgical Music. Her performance areas were organ and voice. Mrs. Bailey was an elementary and high school teacher for 22 years. She was also a church organist/choir director for most of her life.

She was a waitress for Fuch's in Milan, TN and was a former employee at Milan Arsenal for about 15 years. Janice was a loving mother and was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She loved doing charity work and was a member of the Moose Lodge.

She is survived by two daughters, Thelma Louise Stutts (Ronnie), Christie Sexton, both of Dyersburg; one son, Keith Wade Haislip (Janie) of Davenport, Iowa; four grandchildren, Matt Matlock, Jamie Summers, Billy Summers, Jennifer Haislip; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Paul Burroughs of Davenport, Iowa.

Mrs. Loretta Jean Gilliland Crider Ballard, age 73, lifetime resident of Frog Jump, TN went peacefully to the waiting arms of her Lord, Monday, August 23,2021 surrounded by her family at home. She was born March 31,1948 to the late E.C. Gilliland and Martha Archer Crider. Mrs. Loretta was a member of Archer's Chapel Church. She was a retired factory employee by ABB in Alamo, TN. Mrs. Loretta is survived by her husband: Jimmy Ballard, one daughter: Lita (Kevin) Thomas of Frog Jump and one son: Timothy (Cathy) Crider of Jackson, TN; her mother Martha Crider; Sister of two sisters: Sandra Jones and Bonnie (Jackie) Fincher and one brother: Noel Gilliland all of Frog Jump. She was preceded in death by her father, E.C. Gilliland, her late husband, Wendell Crider, brother-in-law, Bobby Jones and her step-father, Edward Crider. Mrs. Loretta also leaves behind 7 grandchildren: Bethany Evans (Kenton), Jonathan Thomas (Suesanna), Chester Lavelle Sharp (Leslie), 4 Great Grandchildren, Kalen Sharp, C.J. Sharp, Jr., Justin Sharp, Elijah Evans and soon to be born Charlotte Evans and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren, Dimetrius Sharp and Reggie Sharp. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends whom she loved and cherished as they did her. The funeral will be held 3:00 pm on Thursday, August 26 at Archer's Chapel Church, Halls, TN with Bro. Larry Kendrick officiating. Burial will be in Archer's Chapel Cemetery following the service. Doug was born on September 19, 1932, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late J.W. and Mattie Horner Seaton. He was married to Joyce Williams Seaton for 68 years and was a charter member of the Junction Church of God, where he was a devoted member, Sunday School Teacher and loved his church family. Doug was a licensed barber at Big Boy Junction, was a gourmet route salesman and worked at Oldberg for 21 years. He was an avid gardener and loved spending time with his family. Doug proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army.

She loved the movie Frozen and the character of Elsa, as well as cheering on her brother & sister in their sports, making TikToks, stroller and bike rides at the park, spending time at the lake, swimming and dancing, playing with play-doh, slime and her BabyAlive.

Dorothy (Dot) Spiller left her earthly home on Wednesday, August 18 to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Dot was married to the love of her life, Marcus, for 63 years. They have been sweethearts since the age of 12. If you knew Dot for very long, she would tell you about her heavenly home. Her life exemplified Christ to her family, her friends, and to those around her. Her passion in this life was sharing the love of Jesus and caring for her family. For many years she worked in the cotton industry and was a friend to all those who came in contact with her in that field. She will be so greatly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers and many nieces and nephews. She was the light and heart of her family. Dot is survived by her husband, Marcus Spiller, her daughter Marsha (Randy) McKay, and son Mark (Shirley) Spiller both of Bartlett. Linda was born on August 12, 1947, in Galena Park, TX, to Flora Louette Wilson and the late Corbett Earnest Wilson. She was a nurse with the State of Tennessee and had formerly worked with Sylvania, First Citizens Bank and for several local health organizations. As a nurse, she had passed the RN test for all 50 states. Linda was President of the Family Support Group of the 269th Military Police Company when they went to Desert Shield and Desert Storm in 1990 and 1991. She had received several FEMA certificates for her work during disasters. She was the former President of the Dyer County Republican Party, former President of the State Executive Committee Woman for the Western District of Tennessee and was a Representative at the Republican Convention of 2004 in New York. Linda was a member of Northside Church of Christ.
