Barbara was a devoted homemaker, member of Labell Baptist Church in Labell, TX, and loved time spent with her grandchildren and families.

Barbara is survived by her daughters; Gayle Wright and Donna Marie Casper, a brother James Schrimsher and was greatly loved as "Granny" by her grandchildren; Tiffany Mashburn, William York, Mataya White, Nicole, Bret & Shane Casper and Michael Wright, II, her great-grandchildren; Samantha & Kirsten Bower, Haley Mayen, Collin York, Grace & Dallas Mashburn and Michael Wright, III, and her three great-great-grandchildren.

Douglas Loyd Fowler Jr., age 84, of Dripping Springs, TX, passed away in the early hours of the morning on April 10th in the comfort of Hospice Austin's Christopher House in Austin, TX, with no pain.

Doug was born in Dyersburg, TN on January 16, 1942 to the late, Douglas Loyd Fowler, Sr. and Maudema Fowler. Doug was straight forward and firm in his beliefs and wants. He always enjoyed laughing and share a good joke with family and friends. He was married to Linda Joan Fowler for 57 years. They lived together in Dripping Springs Texas for over 30 years before her passing. He traveled the world while serving our nation's military honorably in the Air Force for 22 years. Afterwards they traveled the country from coast to coast as a trucking team. Then with their grandchildren and children they would travel in an RV. He enjoyed traveling, eating pie, fishing, and above all spending time with his family.

He was a steadfast advocate for every resident, always putting their needs first, and ensuring they were cared for with dignity and compassion. He carried that same respect and care for the staff, creating a place that felt like family. Bill believed in honesty, even when the truth was hard to hear, and he led with integrity in every decision he made. His knowledge, guidance, and unwavering commitment shaped Maple Ridge into what it is today.

Stan was a faithful member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and proudly served as the local Chaplain for the Dyer County Rescue Squad. Known to many as “Stan the Man from Dyersburgland”, he brought energy and enthusiasm as Master of Ceremonies at numerous racetracks, including Dyersburg, Jackson, Camden, Atwood and Milan. Stan had a special love for vehicles, quick wit and a deep appreciation for life. He never met a stranger and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome.

Stan is survived by his sons, Miles Holland, Bronson Watson, both of Dyersburg; his sister, Brenda Lord and husband, Mike, of Nashville; and three nephews, Michael Lord and wife Melissa, Tom Lord and wife Stephanie and Bob Tweedy and wife Beth.

Mrs. Marilyn Holmes, of Dyersburg, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Ascension - Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN. She was born September 20, 1943, in Trenton, TN to the late Everard and Emily Williams. Throughout her life, she worked in various capacities including secretary for various medical businesses, preschool teacher, editor and proofreader. Her attention to detail and love of history were always key to her work. She had a passion for genealogy and research; writing several books on Dement/Holmes families. She supported the work of the local Daughters of the American Revolution chapter and the Dyer County Veterans' Assistance office as well as being an active member of the Dyer County Historical Society. For the last thirteen years, she was a volunteer as a Certified Archivist, working in the Archive's office on county legal records. She and her husband were active members of First Baptist Church in Halls, TN where she was a dedicated teacher for the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband, Vernon Lee Holmes, whom she married November 28, 1963. She also is survived by a son, Thomas Lee Holmes and wife, Chantelle, and a daughter, LeAnn Kunce and husband, Jim and a sister, Nancy Williams Wallace. She was loved as "Grandma" by her grandchildren, Ashley Wheeler and husband, Jon and Kimberly, Paige, Andrew and Ryan Gildersleeve and Isabella and Brandon Holmes. She has her first great-grandson, Elliott James Wheeler, son of Ashley and Jon Wheeler. She is preceded in death by her parents, Everard Holmes Williams and Emily Tyree Williams.

He pursued higher education, earning Degrees in Business Administration and Biological Science and was a self-employed businessman. Dennis was a devoted husband and father, who also held his Christian faith at the forefront of his life.

Jarrod, Steve Lax, and Jeff Luffman began duck hunting at the age of 15 and it became their passion throughout their lives. A great friend, Scott Talent, later became part of the duck hunting crew. He spent every winter at his duck cabin in Arkansas, guiding hunters from all over the country. He enjoyed every sunset after a long day of hunting to review his accomplishments and achievements.

Jimmy dedicated 41 years of his life working as a lineman at Gibson County Electric before retiring. As of to date, Jimmy was working as a substitute teacher for the Lake County School System. He also served his country in the United States National Guard for six years. His commitment to his community was evident through his volunteer work as a fireman in both Ridgely and Tiptonville, and his service on various county boards, including his role as Road Commissioner. He was also the coordinator for the music entertainment at the Annual Reelfoot Arts and Crafts.

Goble Wiggins, Sr. and Brenda Blackley Wiggins and was a life-long resident of Lake County. Over the years, she worked as a housekeeper for Gray's Camp and also as a store clerk for several local businesses. She and her family were active with the Phillippy Baptist Church, where she helped teach Sunday School. Her faith was very important to her as she loved to sing Gospel songs and participate in worship services in the nursing home. She loved any time spent with the babies in her family.

Mary is survived by her husband, Michael Warren, her son Michael Allen Warren, her brothers Goble Wiggins, Jr. and wife, Mary and Michael Wiggins, her sisters Janet Gillihan and Jennifer Burks and husband, Kyle and was greatly loved as "Nanny" by her granddaughter Kailee Warren and her three great-grand babies. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bobby Wiggins, her sister Theresa Wiggins and a granddaughter Emily Warren.

Mark was proud to work as an over-the-road truck driver for Tyson Foods. He was a talented artist, always sketching and coloring things of interest to him. He was a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle enthusiast at heart. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and his dog, Boss. He is remembered as a jack-of-all trades, able to fix most anything. Long drives in his classic yellow Pontiac Grand Prix brought him much joy.

King and his family were from originally from Newbern and were longtime members of Newbern First Baptist Church. He was a long-time Minister of Music in Newbern, also serving churches in Texas, East Tennessee, and Georgia, where he spent most of his ministry before retiring. He was also an avid beekeeper from his teenage years until shortly before his death. He really valued family and inspired his granddaughters to be beekeepers also. He was very proud of his seven grandchildren, who were homeschooled by their mom, three of whom have graduated college, and the rest are following in their steps.
