He was currently employed at Excel Polymers, had previously owned Fred's Grocery & Bait and retired as a manager for Wal-Mart in 1991. He was also a member of the Dyersburg Moose Lodge. Memorial services will be at 11:00 am Monday, January 3, 2011 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Branscum officiating. Curry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include 2 daughters, Christy Jones of Dyersburg and Lesley Kane of New Orleans, LA, 3 sisters, Robbie Lee Gurien of Blytheville, AR, Betty Lou Lemery of Omaha, AR, Mary Frances Ellis of Madisonville, KY and 3 grandchildren, Rayannah Jones, Molly Kane and Vivian Kane. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, D.M. Vance, his twin Eddie Lynn Vance, Gerald Hoke Vance and his parents Dewey Albert Vance and Mildred Irene Hoke Vance. Gracie always wished to be remembered as a "Southern Lady", ready to help those that needed a friend or who needed someone to talk to.
