Robert spent most of his life working as a self-employed auto mechanic, something he was well known for and his ability to fix almost anything. He was drafted to serve in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War and put his skills to use as a wheeled vehicle mechanic. He was a hard worker and was devoted to his family. He enjoyed trips to nearby casinos with friends, fishing and ATV riding in his younger years and loved time spent with his dog, LuLu.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Selena Hutcheson, of Tiptonville, his brothers Buford Kelley, Richard Kelley, sisters Bonnie Jones, Lois Birdwell, Martha Dial, Verla Stairs, Judy Faulkner, Charlene Bargery and Teresa Walton and his three grandchildren, Courtney & Ava Hutcheson and Christina Faith Striffe and many nieces & nephews.

She was a lover of music of all genres, from Loretta Lynn to Kid Rock. She was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren and had a heart for helping others.

Pam is survived by her long-time companion, Lynn Johnson, her daughter, Peyton Fortner & husband, Dustin, of Murfreesboro, TN, her brothers, Dennis Presley & wife, Sue, Junior Curtis & wife, Sandy, her sister, Debra Roberts and was greatly loved as "Meema" by her four grandchildren, Laynee, Jameson, Naomi and Wyatt. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Timothy Tucker and James Michael Curtis.

She retired from Bellsouth.

Ida Ryland Guthrie

It is with both great sadness and great joy that we announce the death of Ida May Guthrie, a wonderful wife, mom, grandmother, sister, friend, encourager, and support for numerous friends and family members. She died peacefully on November 25, 2024. Ida was ninety-two years old.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, she, her parents, Al and Ethel Ryland, and her siblings, Tommie and Porter, eventually settled in Dyersburg, Tennessee in the mid-1940s. Ida graduated from Dyersburg High School in 1949 and then traveled by train to Virginia to attend the Mary Baldwin all-girls school in 1949-1950. From 1950 to 1953 she attended the University of Arkansas, where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She graduated with a BA in English, a good match for her love of literature and reading, a love that she maintained until the final weeks of her life on earth.

After a long illness, Betty Autry Carmack, age 92, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024, at the West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

Betty was born on September 1, 1932, to the late Joe and Willie Ozment Autry. Betty was born and lived her entire life in Dyersburg. She was so proud of her career, having worked and retired with AT&T/Bellsouth. She was an independent woman who loved animals and was young at heart. Betty recently was a resident at Canterbury Place.

Craig Williams,72, of Tiptonville, died Monday, November 25, 2024, at this residence. Born October 13, 1952, he is the son of the late J.E. and Laura Faye Howerton Williams. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and retired from the State of Tennessee as a counselor and teacher at the prison. Craig enjoyed reading, cooking and traveling with his brother Greg.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, November 27, 2024, graveside, in the Tiptonville City Cemetery conducted by Reverend Jack Henry.

He was employed at Nucor Skyline. Craig enjoyed riding motorcycles and car racing. He was an excellent grill master and loved his family and his dogs.
