Mr. Cleland Taylor Moore, of Dyersburg, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Cleland was born September 20, 1941 in Dyersburg to the late Vernon & Margaret Moore. He was a graduate of Dyersburg High School, then joined the United States Air Force. He earned the rank of Master Sergeant, proudly serving over a 21 year career as a Food Service Supervisor. He served in locations including Missouri, Puerto Rico, Kansas, Oklahoma, Germany and New Mexico. After returning in retirement, he worked for 16 years at Colonial Rubber Works. He is lovingly remembered by his friends and co-workers as "Bud" or "Sarge". In his post-service years, he enjoyed time with friends at the Dyersburg Moose Lodge and local bowling leagues. He was an accomplished woodworker, loved old cars and western movies. He spent time in his front yard swing and loved to cook for family, especially Saturday morning breakfasts.

Cleland is survived by his children, Michael Wayne Moore (Leslie), Karen Renee Harwell (John), Amanda Moore Montgomery (Grant) and David S. Moore (Autumn) and his sisters, Gaithel Moore Hendren (Bubba) and Deborah Joyce Davison (Travis). He was greatly loved as "Papa" by his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Garrett, Austin and Ethan Moore, Taylor Harwell, Anna Cathey (Garrett), Andrea Cox (Mitch), Aaron Montgomery (Sam), Connor Montgomery (Makayla), Lexy Moore and Chase Burns as well as his great-grandchildren, Lera Cathey, Miles & Carter Cox, Paislee, Jake & Scarlett Montgomery and Asher & Avaleigh Montgomery. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon & Margaret Taylor Moore, his wife Jenny Lou Tibbs Moore and a brother, Lenville "Buddy" Moore.

Mrs. Reynolds is a loved member of Cottonwood Baptist Church since joining as a child. She loved her community and enjoyed serving it as the owner of Dorthy’s Famous Foods in Ridgely for over 40 years. She loved to receive calls and visits from church members, the pastor, and her many friends, and family. Dorthy never met a stranger, letting her gift for talking and her personality befriend anyone that crossed her path.

Ruth is survived by her son, Tim Bivens and wife, Laura, as well as a brother, Larry Johnson and sisters Frances Miller and June Hutcherson. and was loved as "MawMaw" by her grandson, Andy Bivens and wife, Amanda and their son, Sam. She is preceded in death by her husband, Olin "Pete" Bivens, her parents, her son, Billy Wayne Bivens and his wife, Emily Bivens, her brothers Bud Johnson, Cleburn Johnson and sisters Lillian Howard, VernaMay McCarthy, Imogene Sawyers, Lovelle Hicks, Pauline Beaird, Linda Cummings and Shelby Tillman.

Elliott loved the great outdoors, music and his friends. When those three intersected it was going to be a great day. However, most of all, he loved his family and his pets. Elliott was kind, helpful and a friend to all. His smile was contagious, and his personality put everyone at ease while his sense of humor often left you speechless and in disbelief of such a quick wit. Elliott leaves behind stories and experiences that would fill volumes, and he leaves behind, as well, an enormous group of family and friends who love him so much.

Mr. Daniel "Danny" Hershall Simmons, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Jackson-General Hospital. Danny was born September 18, 1961 to the late Ira & Carolyn Simmons. Danny was a 1979 graduate of Dyersburg High School and later Memphis State University where he studied criminal justice. Early in his career, he worked in Juvenile Court and as a reserve deputy for the Shelby County Sheriff's Department and as a reserve officer in Panama City FL. Later, he helped manage the Mississippi Medical News publication and was involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, then moving into sales and consulting for Bassett Furniture and Lay-Z-Boy. More recently he worked in sales for the BathFitter company. He is fondly remembered for his love of U of M sports.

Danny is survived by his long-time canine companion, Gretl, his brother and sister-in-law, Wilburn & Susan Simmons and niece, Amanda Simmons, all of Cordova, TN as well as his aunt and many cousins. He also leaves behind many treasured friends, co-workers and classmates. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ira Simmons III and Carolyn Cook Simmons.

Mr. Luther "Luke" Edward Stanford, of Finley, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, TN. Luke was born in Decaturville, TN to the late William "Bill" & Annie Stanford on July 26, 1937. He worked in production as a mixer for many years for Colonial Rubberworks in Dyersburg. He proudly served in the United States Army and Army reserve. He was a Baptist by faith and well thought of in the Finley community, helping others with his mechanical and handyman skills. He enjoyed family gatherings and time with his grandchildren, as well as Bingo and card games with friends. He lived a very active life and is remembered by the saying " A busy mind isn't a worrying mind."

Luke is survived by his son, James "Bubba" Stanford of Finley, his daughters Teresa Jackson (Richie) of Dyersburg and Melissa (Dewayne) Brooks of Finley, a bonus-son, Les Box and is greatly loved as "Papaw" by his grandchildren, Joni Ballinger (Brandon), Brad Brooks (Alison), Jill Patterson (Adam), Jonathan Brooks (Katie), Jamie Stanford (Katherine), Jared Jackson (Jenna) and Kristian Stanford and his great-grandchildren, Brody Ballinger, Braylee Butterworth, Finley Brooks, Cade Patterson, Ben Ballinger, Neyland Brooks, Addie Brooks and Graham Brooks. He is preceded in death by his wife, Louise Stanford, his son, Jimmy Stanford, his parents, his brothers Tommy, Earl & James Stanford and sister, Mae Bradshaw.
