Walter F. Urban, Jr., 76 of Dyersburg, TN, formerly of Lima, OH, passed away January 31, 2013. He was born September 24, 1936, to the late Walter F. Sr. and Wanda Urban. On August 27, 1992, he married Deborah McCluer Urban, who survives.

Mr. Urban retired from Social Security Administration, and as President of First Federal, Lima, OH. Walter was a member of First Baptist Church, Dyersburg, and looked forward to his homecoming with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a graduate of Adams, MA High School. He obtained his Bachelor Degrees in Business Administration, and Accounting from the University of Massachusetts, and a MBA in Management and Economics from New York University. He was a Navy veteran, a member of B.P.O.E., No. 54, and a member of American Legion Post 113. He was the former President of the Board of Directors/Lima Symphony Orchestra, former Board of Directors/Lima Area Chamber of Commerce/Lima Area Development Council, and Accounting Alumni Advisory Board/University of Massachusetts. He was an avid sports fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes/New England Patriot's; he loved music and old war movies. Walter was a generous and loving husband, father, son, grandfather, brother in-law, uncle and friend. His wife was the love of his life. His joy was sharing life with his best friend, knowing that their life had no beginning and no end.

Jesse Clyde Medley, 92, of Dyersburg, TN., passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at NHC Healthcare in Hendersonville, TN. He was born on June 5, 1920 in Humphreys County, TN, near Waverly. He was the oldest of 7 children born to William Charley Medley and Delia Annalou Gorden Medley. "Clyde" as he was known by friends, moved to West TN with his family at the age of 16. It was here that he met his wife Vernon Davidson Medley. They were married on January 19, 1944, while he was home on leave from the Army during WWII. They were married 52 years before her death in 1996. Clyde served 3 years in the US Army's 90th Infantry Division, landing on Normandy on Utah Beach on D Day in the early morning hours of June 6, 1944. He was honorably discharged October 1945, receiving the following decorations: WW II Victory Medal, American Campaign lapel button, and the European, African & Middle Eastern theater ribbon with 5 bronze stars for service in the Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Centr4al Europe campaigns. Clyde was proud of his military service, achieving the rank of Corporal, and was honored at the Dyersburg Veterans Day Service and Parade in November 2001 at the age of 81. Clyde worked for W. T. Cutchin & Associates and Ford Construction of Dyersburg as supervisor of bridge construction, retiring in 1990 at the age of 70. Clyde loved the outdoors, enjoying fishing, hunting, gardening, welding and his profession. He was an avid fisherman, spending many hours on Kentucky Lake with family and friends. He was affectionately known as "The Inventor" later in life, as he embraced the latest technology known to him as thye CB radio. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Vernon, brothers Robert "Bobby" and Walter, and a sister Ludie. He is survived by 3 daughters, Janet (Jim) Threet of Hendersonville, TN., Brenda (Rocky) Brewer of South Elgin, IL., and Linda (Terry) Siddens of Mesquite, TX; 7 grandchildren, Virginia Morgan of Austin, Texas, Amy (Brian) Hite of Louisville, KY., Tiffany (Noel) Ocegueda and Mallory (Jamie) Sloma of South Elgin, IL., Cody (Eric) Heubner of Petersburg, IL., Sarah Siddens of Denver, CO, and George Siddens of Austin, TX, and 9 great grandchildren. He leaves on brother, Thomas Medley of Portage, IN and two sisters, Willie Bea Vormnitag of Trimble, and Ollie (Bud) Brock of Finley, and many nieces and nephews. Conner and Lille Morrow Conner August 16, 1925 in Hickman, KY. She attended grade school at Phillippy, TN and high school at Western High School at Sassafras Ridge, KY. Lois graduated from WHS in 1944. She married Gilbert Altman on August 16, 1944 and they made their home in Phillippy. Lois worked for the US Post Office at Phillippy and as secretary at the Lake County Board of Education. Lois continued to work when she and Gilbert moved to New Mexico as a tutor in the Deming, New Mexico Public Schools. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Friday, February 1, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Tiptonville, TN with Reverend Marita Burkeen conducting the services. After graduation she was employed by her father as Deputy Clark in the County Court Clerk's office on June 3, 1943. She served in this position for 27 years. When her father retired from office August 31, 1970 she was elected County Court Clerk and served as Clerk until August 31, 1982 when she retired. She served under five County judges: Honorable C.B. Rhodes, C.U. Cochran, Paul N. Algee, Richard Helton and Wilford Parks Jr. She was an active member of her church since 1939. She taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and served on the Administrative Board. After retiring, she became church secretary and church treasurer. She was active with the American Cancer Society for several years. She is survived by one daughter Lyndell Ann (Lynne) House Patterson, son-in-law Larry S. Patterson, one beloved granddaughter, Garland Parker Patterson and other dear relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron A. House, her parents, a sister, Mary Martha Shull Phebus; and three brothers, Harry Alexander Shull, Nard Calvin Shull and Jerry Mac Shull.
