Born December 7, 1948, to the late James Ervin and Colleen Presgrove Pilkenton, he was retired from Lowe's. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Brother Kevin Klutts. He is survived by his son Shane Pilkenton and wife Beverly; two grandchildren, Michael Lane and Hunter Blake Pilkenton; his sister, Laura Gregory and his brother, Jerry Pilkenton. He is survived by two daughters: Brandi Bennett of Atoka, TN and Brookelynn Ann Lilly of Halls, TN, and two sons: Owen Dwight Lilly II of Ripley, TN and Chet Austin Lilly of Ripley, TN,; his mother Annie Lee Crowder of gates TN; Brother of two sisters: Judith Campbell of SanTan Valley, AZ and Shirley Skipper of Choctaw, OK. Jerry Wayne attended First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Buck Tarpley Life Group, but he was a lifetime member of Finley United Methodist Church. He was a retired automobile dealer and was known for his lifelong love of buying, selling, racing, and collecting cars. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2017 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Mike Hickman. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 26th beginning at 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Barbara Anne Tanner Kitzrow, 87, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Dyersburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Born January 10, 1930, in Lynn, Massachusetts to the late Ivan Lawrance and Mary Josephine Hayes Tanner, Barbara lived in Florida and Minnesota before her family settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. There she graduated from Bayview High School and attended University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. While living in Rockville, Maryland, she completed her associate degree at Montgomery College. She met her husband, Donald Richard Kitzrow, while working at Allen Bradley Corporation in Milwaukee. They married in 1954. Donald preceded her in death in 1988. Barbara was a seamstress, knitter, gardener and lover of reading. Her yard and flowerbeds were a source of pride at each of her many homes, which included residences in Wisconsin, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland and Tennessee.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2017 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home conducted by Reverend Corey D. Williams with inurnment to follow at 2:00 p.m. in Highland Memorial Gardens in Jackson, TN.

He was born on July 15, 1923 in Tiptonville, TN, to the late Lynn Grady Staulcup and the late Emma Lydia Adams Staulcup. He was a senior mechanic on B17 airplanes at the Halls Airbase during World War II. Aaron was living in Ridgley, where he met and married his wife of 65 years, Jo Ruth McCutchen Staulcup. He was a retired farmer and landowner and was also a charter member of the Lake County Farm Bureau, where he served as president for 26 years. He was a member of the Willingham Memorial Baptist Church in Ridgely and a certified Lay Speaker for both the Memphis Methodist Conference and Gideon's International. In 2004, Staulcup was awarded the Harry Denman Evangelism Award. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Oriental Shrines, and a lifetime contributor to the Shriner's cripple children and burns hospitals.

"Coach" James M. Counce, Jr., 68, of Dyersburg, formerly of Paris, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional.

He was born on July 6, 1949 in South Fulton, TN, to the late James M. Counce, Sr. and the late Ada Belle Roach Counce. He was a long-time football coach in West TN, with his longest stints at Dyersburg and Henry Co. high schools. His overall coaching record was 235-95; the winningest football coach in the history of two programs (Dyersburg and Henry Co.), and assistant coach at MBA in 2007 when it won the Division II State Championship. He had two perfect seasons and two 5A State Championships as head coach of Henry Co. (2011, 2013) and retired after the 2014 season. Coach took immense pride in the life accomplishments of his players. In 2017, Coach was elected to the TSSAA Hall of Fame. He was a member of West Dyersburg Church of Christ and was also a graduate of Murray State University. He loved his time on the rear deck of his house with a cup of coffee and enjoyed calm times with his family on the beach. Coach was an avid waterfowl hunter and fisherman.

Doc was born on October 26, 1933 on the hilltop of the family farm, where he lived until his death. He was a retired farmer, carpenter and restaurant owner. He also owned one of the 10 Century Farms in Dyer County. In 1950, Doc introduced the first tractor and in 1957 the first cotton picker in the Dyer County Area. Doc and his wife, Mary, owned the Juke Box Cafe, also known as the "Hog Trough". Doc was a Historian, an avid gardener and loved to fish and hunt. His pride and joy were his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his two cats, Queenie and Cooper. Anytime you saw Doc, he always had a kind word, a huge smile and wearing his cowboy hat.
