She is the daughter of the late Walter and the late Mammie (Crews) Batchelor. She was employed in food services at West Tennessee State Penitentiary. She is survived by her husband: Jessie L. Smith, one daughter: Bettina Hoggard of Ripley, TN and two sons: Rickky Sweeten of Hemit, CA and Donald Sweeten of Ripley, TN, Sister of one sister: Elizabeth McNally of Oklahoma City and one brother: Clifford Batchelor of Boise, OK. Margaret also leaves two grandsons John H. Smith and Jesse Sweeten and one great-granddaughter Marie Smith. Preceded in death by her son, Carl Sweeten Jr. and Ronald Sweeten. She is the daughter of the late Ernest Winchester and the late Bessie (Gillon) Garner. Lois was a loving mother and a homemaker. She is survived by one daughter: Tammy Lewis of Halls, TN and four sons: Ricky Ward, Randy Ward, Rodney Ward and Robbie Ward all of Halls, TN. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her husband Ted Ward, a son, Ronnie Ward, a sister, Frances Serratt, and a brother, Eugene Garner. Don proudly served his country during the Korean War as Airmen 3rd Class in the United States Air Force. He was retired from Ketchum Appliance Parts and Service Center since 1958 and a member of Seventh Day Church of God. He enjoyed restoring antiques cars.

She is survived by four children Sheila Phillips of Dyersburg, Rod Phillips (Valerie) of New Bern, NC, Tim Phillips (Debbie) of Newbern, TN, and Cindy Rhodes (Johnny) of Dyersburg, TN, nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one step grandson. She is also survived by her sisters Saundra Combs and Alice McIntosh both of Newbern and numerous nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her husband Odis Phillips, her great-grandson Charlie Ballinger, sisters Violet Stout and Betty Murray and brother Sidney McKnight. Ike was a retired Lieutenant Colonel with the Army National Guard, serving his country for 37 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He is the director of Dyer County Office on Aging, President of West Tennessee Seniors Golf Association, member of the Dyersburg Golf Association and a board member for the Tennessee Senior Olympics. Ikes father instilled the love of golf at a very young age, and he continued to enjoy golf daily.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2019 at First United Methodist Church officiated by Reverend Ed White and Reverend Dell King with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Mike was the field agent for the Lake County Tax Assessor Office for several years and was also currently in that position for the Obion County Tax Assessor Office. He made and repaired stained glass windows, was avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and NASCAR. Mike was a loyal husband and a great father.

Franklin Dean Agee, age 80, of Dyersburg, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at his residence.

He was born April 4, 1938 in Maury City, Tennessee. He served in the United States Air Force, where he met his wife, Barbara Foster Agee. He was a barber by trade and long-time owner of Agee's Barber Shop. He truly loved the game of baseball and shared that with his family and community and was known as "Coach" to many young men in Dyersburg. He devoted much of his time and effort to coaching local baseball teams, including a 13-year old State Championship team. He was blessed to see both his son, Jeff and grandson, Franklin play on teams that won state championships. He was a long-time member of East Dyersburg United Methodist Church, where he participated in many activities and committees. He was recognized as a 50-year member of the Hess Masonic Lodge as well as a Jaycee and supporter of Habitat for Humanity. Throughout all of his life, whatever his circumstance, he was truly a "Survivor".

Ruth Rodgers Parham went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 27, 2019. She began her journey on earth August 14, 1934 in Haywood County. She was the last child born to Ethel and Eddie Rodgers. Her father was a farmer, where she first learned all about hard work. She married October 6, 1951 and was blessed with a son, Anthony Parham December 11, 1955. She continued to live the farm life; and then for years, she held public jobs. She was a member of Palestine First United Methodist Church. She was an avid flower gardener and loved sharing her flowers and plants with family and friends. Her favorite flower was the Shasta daisy. She was a faithful worker for the Dyer County Democratic Party. She believed in hard work, love, kindness, honesty, humility, faith, forgiveness and always doing everything possible to help others physically, emotionally and with understanding. An abundance of love was always shown for her family and friends as a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Mother-in-law and aunt. He was a lifelong Methodist, first serving his home church, Dyersburg First United Methodist Church as Director of the Family Life Center, then becoming a Certified Lay Minister, currently pastoring Friendship United Methodist Church and Elizabeth United Methodist Church. While he served as Director of the Family Life Center, he helped to establish and organize the Upward Program. Andy was an EMT Paramedic Coordinator with the State of Tennessee and a charter member of Tennessee E.M.S. Educators Association.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2019 in the Sanctuary of Dyersburg First United Methodist Church conducted by Reverend Ed White and Dr. Phillip Cook.

Later he tried farming, his first love, and installing septic systems. Mr. Tubbs was a charter member of Hawthorne Baptist Church and a long term member and Deacon Emeritus at Hillcrest Baptist Church.
