Lucille M. Rector, 98, died peacefully at her home on November 22, 2020. She was born September 25, 1922 , in Arlington, Kentucky, the oldest daughter of four children. She lived forty years in Fulton, Kentucky, where she worked as bookkeeper for Fulton Ice Company, worshipped faithfully at First Baptist Church and raised her daughter, Sylvia Carden.

She moved to Dyersburg, Tn, thirty-eight years ago, where she married W. L. Rector, founder of Rector Oil, who died in 1993. Mrs. Rector lived her deep faith, prayed constantly, and was the center of love and strength for her family, especially her grandsons John Jowers, who died earlier this year, and Jason Jowers.

She is survived by her husband: Ron Bales of Dyersburg, TN and one daughter: Mary (Troy) Day of Senatobia, MS. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Maggie Day and Harlan Day of Senatobia, MS. Mrs. Paula was predeceased by her son, Frank Bales, and sister, Beth Dunaway Haynes. Graveside services will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, November 28,2020 at Halls Cemetery. Mr. Jerry Ray Foren, of Dyersburg, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020 at his residence. He was born March 9, 1943 to B. & Mary Foren of Bradford, TN, where he lived most of his life. He was a graduate of Bradford High School and served in the Tennessee National Guard. He volunteered for many years as Treasurer for the Bradford Church of Christ. He is remembered as an avid gardener-always sharing his crops, as an excellent cook and devoted family-man. He retired after many years with the Brown Shoe Co. in Trenton where he was the warehouse superintendent but also liked to say that he was a "Hobby Farmer". Upon moving to Dyersburg to be close to his family, the Forens attended West Dyersburg Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Evaline Hampton Foren, his daughters, Camille Lynette Foren Colbert & husband, Curtis and Damaris Evette Foren Cook & husband, Kevin and his sister Elizabeth Foren Mosley. He was loved as "Poppa J" by his grandchildren, Claire Elizabeth Colbert, Hope Catherine Colbert, Henley Camille Cook and Hampton Cole Cook. He is preceded in death by his parents, B. & Mary Agatha Davis Foren.

His loving wife of 30 years, Cathy Crans, was at his side. He was welcomed into Heaven with a worthy servants welcome. David was born July 28, 1944 in Hastings, Michigan to Julius and Vada Allen Crans who preceded him in death. He was a well-distinguished Master Engineer who was well-respected in the Tooling Industry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Gina and four brothers: Robert, Henry, Claude, and Eugene. David was loving father to Tina (Sam), Kimberly (Robert) and Cleve (Holly). Proud grandfather of Will (Brittany), Kenny (Chesney), Luke (Kati), Anne, Brooke, Blake (Gabriella), Katie and Kaycee. Great-grandfather to Liam, Lillian, Ellie, Adrianna, Cash, Charlotte, Banks and Leo. David is further survived by nieces, nephews, many other relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly. David will be fondly remembered by all as a loving husband, father, woodworker, teller of stories, his love of antiquing, his incredible way of singing “Happy Birthday”, fishing and his infectious smile. He was born in Malesus, TN, on January 4, 1929, the eldest of four children of Dr. William Slaton Evans and Helen Mann Evans, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy Mann Evans and Dr. John Wesley Evans.

Dr. Evans, known as Grand Bill to his family and Brother Bill to his friends, is survived by his wife, Betty Shaw Evans, and their four children: Rebecca Evans Goodson (Wes) of Longmont, Colorado, Reverend William S. Evans III (Dana) and Elizabeth Evans Dickerson (Bill) of Dyersburg, TN, and Ellen Evans Markwell (Ken) of Germantown, TN. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Ben and Carter Goodson; Slaton and Lily Evans and Madison Evans Friesen; Leslie Gabb; Christopher, Anthony and Nikolaus Markwell; Will, Cole and Shaw Dickerson. In addition, he is survived by eleven great-grandchildren, his sister, Dr. Joan Evans Hartman, and his sisters-in-law, Katherine Evans and Rosemary Evans, nine nieces and nephews, and sixteen great-nieces and nephews.

John Hunter Reece Jr., 87, of Halls, passed away on Nov, 14, 2020 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital of complications from pneumonia. Dr. Bill Oakley of Enon Baptist Church will be officiating the graveside service on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church. Graveside service and burial will follow the visitation at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements are being handled by Halls Funeral Home. John Hunter Reece Jr. was born on Dec. 26, 1932 to his parents John and Eva Reece. John was drafted into the army in Dec. of 1951 and served until May of 1955. During that time he served in Korea. John was married to May June Nannie on Jan. 4, 1951, and they have spent the last 69 years building a beautiful life together. The couple lived and worked in Halls, Chicago, and Ripley. Prior to his retirement in 2002 he worked as a maintenance manager for Komatsu Limited. John was a 16 year member and deacon of Enon Baptist Church. John (Pawpaw) was known for his abundant love for his family and treasured spending time with them more than anything. Outside of time spent at work, church and with family, John loved to spend time in his shop "piddling", gardening, hunting, and fishing. John Hunter Reece Jr. was survived by his loving wife, May June Reece, his caring daughter and son in-law Tania Reece and Barry Farley, grandchildren Katie Reece Davis, Hunter and his wife Allison Farley, and Molly Claire Farley, as well as his great-grandchildren Addilyn and Everly Davis. She also leaves a sister JoAnn Deprizo of Chicago, Il. and two brothers Tony Agresta and Joseph Agresta, both of Dyersburg, Tn. She leaves several grandchildren.

Joyce and Leslie were married in 1950 and were together 65 years when he passed in 2015. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter who loved to decorate. She was a strong, loving, and giving person reaching out to help others in need. She is the daughter of the late Richard Jonas Hunt and Lena Penecia Hunt. She is preceded in death by husband Leslie Bernice Newman, brothers Richard Louis Hunt, John William (Dee) Hunt, David Moore Hunt and sister Cherokee Rosedale Hunt. She has two surviving sons Phillip Leslie Newman (Deborah) of Tullahoma and Jackie William Newman (Brenda) of Lewisburg. Joyce has 5 grandchildren Joshua, Darien, Jacob, Sydney, and Phillip ll and 7 great grandchildren. He was a retired bus driver for Dyer County Schools and an avid football fan, always supporting the local sports teams. He was a musician and loved music as well as being an active outdoorsman, camper and fisherman. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a very devout Christian and member of First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Victoria Moore Fulcher, of Nashville, TN, two grandchildren, Alexia Nichols & Scarlet Moore and a great-grandson, Timothy Johnson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Buford & Roma Goad Hendren and his sister, Carol Hendren Disney.

Chris died Tuesday, November 3, 2020 and Lechia died Tuesday, November 10, 2020, both at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. The family finds comfort in knowing that Chris was there to hold the gate to welcome Lechia to their new heavenly home.

Lechia was born April 21, 1947 to the late Ernest Lloyd and Hazel Moody. In addition to caring for her family, Lechia was a licensed cosmetologist owning her own business, Lechias Salon. She was an avid gardener and was awarded Beauty Spot of the Week multiple times and hosted many events in her back yard paradise.

She was a very proud MawMaw to her two grandchildren, Nicholas Ethridge of Jackson, TN and Danielle Wolfmeier of Hillsboro MO as well as her seven great-grandchildren, Mark Ethridge of Troy, TN.
