William ("Willie") Lynn Crihfield, 83, a long-time resident in Halls, TN, died peacefully on December 12, 2021. He was born on January 5, 1938. He was a graduate of Halls High School (Class of 1956) and Union University (Class of 1963). William retired from GTE Sylvania. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and was an avid reader. He was a member of the Bethesda Methodist Church of Halls, TN, and a Mason belonging to the lodge in Halls, TN, and Versailles, KY. He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn, mother and father, Sylvia and William E. Crihfield, and infant sister Rebecca. He is survived by his three children: Dean Crihfield (Jenny), Sarena Coble (Randy), and Lenore Hounshell (Alan), as well as his grandchildren Randi Cook (Chris), William Hounshell, Michael Hounshell, Tamara Hounshell, William "Joshua" Crihfield (Cassandra), and Jessica Socia; one great-grandchild (William Josiah Crihfield); and his sister, Janet Patton, as well numerous nieces, and nephews. His visitation will be held at the Halls Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. The funeral services will be held there on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with a graveside service to follow at Halls Cemetery. William will be greatly missed by family and friends. Joey was retired from Rick Hill Nissan as Body Shop Manager. After retirement, his #1 job was sitting behind home plate cheering on whatever team his grandson was playing for. His favorite job was being Poppy to his grandchildren and their friends. He was also a member of First Assembly of God.

The others can do whatever the hell they please”. Larry was the definition of a man - tough, fair and courageous. He was a man all about the “12 and 2”- he would turn on oldies but goodies, hike his blue jeans up and do the “rooster poot”.

Born August 11, 1939, he was the son of the late Harry Thedford Vaughn and Virginia Louise Porch Vaughn. Mr. Vaughn proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a Baptist. Although Jerry was retired from different occupations over a very long, wonderful life, his most cherished positions were as husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved his sweeties and buddies both little and big. He loved to go fishing and in later life, he loved to paint. He cherished every get-to-gather, drop by, phone call, or text. To know Jerry was to know someone who loved his family with every breath. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2021 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Brother Nathe Ozment with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Reverend Wilton and Elizabeth (Potts) Smith. Billie moved to Florida 25 years ago from Dyersburg, Tennessee. She was a Registered Nurse and later an instructor for future LPN's. She graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor's of Science of Nursing degree. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies VFW, a Lion's Club Member, and Food & Beverage Directory with the Holiday Inn University. She enjoyed bowling, hot-air ballooning, and traveling worldwide. Billie was married to her beloved husband, Steve Ellis. They had just celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary before his death in October of 2019.

John was a graduate of Dyersburg High School and played football there. He was an avid hunter, hiker and outdoorsman. John was very involved in the development of the Tigrett Wildlife Management Area and Nature Trail.

He attended Ridgely Church of Christ and proudly served his country in the United States Army where he received the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, the Combat Infantry Badge, the National Defense Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. In his early years, he enjoyed coaching and watching his daughters play sports and loved riding horses with them. Jerry was known for his witty demeanor, great personality and always being able to make you laugh.

He was a graduate of Ole Miss where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He was an avid “Ole Miss” Rebel fan after he graduated and loved his Cardinals baseball. Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who loved fiercely and without reservation.
