Mrs. Juanita McNeill Stanley, 90, of Gates, passed away on Tuesday, Jan.4 surrounded by her family at her residence. She was born to the late Archie and Lena McNeill in Concord in 1931. Juanita, affectionately known to her large family as "Memaw", lived her entire life in Gates. She was a life-long member and treasurer of Concord United Methodist Church, which her late father helped to build. She will be remembered as a great mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Juanita was a homemaker with her true love being in the kitchen cooking for her large family. She also cooked for others, working in the lunchrooms at Forked Deer School, Tupperware and Komatsu. Memaw was also well-known for her amazing caramel popcorn. She was also a seamstress, quilting and crocheting many throws and other items for her family. Another love of Memaw's was sports. An avid fan of the Memphis Grizzlies, the University of Memphis basketball team and the St.Louis Cardinals. Her passion for the games would often result in one of two ways, either cheering for a victory or being escorted out of a gym for throwing popcorn at the referees. She was also an avid card player that hurt many a player's feelings in Shanghi Rummy as well as Rook. Survivors include her twin sister, Aunita Emerson; her four children Rita Hartman (Jimmy), Steve Stanley (Dorothy), Brent Stanley (Kelly), Trisha Smith (Mike); nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Harry C. (Sonny) Stanley, her two brothers JD McNeill (Betty) and James Albert McNeill, her two sisters Evelyn Escue (Pharis), Liz Jansen (Ronnie), and her great-grandson Claiborne Baynes. Public visitation will be held on Friday, Jan.7 at Concord Methodist Church beginning at 11 a.m. prior to the funeral at 1 p.m. Serving as pallbearers are Bryan Hartman, Steven Stanley, Matthew Stanley, Harrison Stanley, Jeff Newman, and Lee Baynes. He worked for many years as a table dealer in many of Las Vegas' casinos, specializing in Baccarat. He loved spending time outdoor, in the mountains of Nevada, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Troxel Reinertson, his daughters, Emily & Tina, his son Lanny Reinertson, his step-sons, J.D. & Derek Cantu, his sisters, Sandi Reinertson, Pam Caldwell, Debbie Dixon. He was "Papa Lance" to his grandchildren, Hailey Reinertson, Elysse Gandy, Darius Cantu and Jadan & Jace Allison Cantu and his great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Gilbertson Reinertson and his son, Troy Reinertson.

John Dial, 75, of Ridgely, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 3, 2022 at his residence with his loving wife at his side. He was the son of the late Joel and Cora Roberson Dial. Mr. Dial proudly served his country in the United States Army stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Ridgely First Baptist Church where he was Chairman of the Deacons and taught Sunday School. He was an ordained minister in Virginia. John was inordinately proud of his four grandchildren. He was an avid gardener, poet and short story writer. He enjoyed traveling, particularly during the Christmas season to see Christmas light displays. One of his proudest moments was officiating the wedding ceremony of his grandson Seth and bride Chelsea in August 2021. He previously served as the local Lake County historian and had an amusing anecdote for all lifes past and future events. His tales and never-ending Dad jokes will be missed by family and friends. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022 in the Ridgely Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Reverend Mickey Hanks. Interment will follow in New Haven Cemetery. Andrew Becker, Benjamin Becker, Seth Becker, Danny Goodman, Jr., Jerry Mealer and Grant Montgomery will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive visitors Saturday, January 8th beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the service begins at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Frances Dial; one daughter, Terri Dial Becker (Andrew) of Sanford, NC; one son, John C. Dial (Hope) of Benton, AR; four grandchildren, Benjamin Becker (Rachel Parfenchuk), Seth Becker (Chelsea), KarLee Becker, Chyna Long (Kody); three sisters, Lucy Autry, Norma Dannatell, both of Cocoa Beach, FL, Barbara Bucklin (Robert), of Raleigh, NC; and two brothers, Danny Dial (Linda) of Dyersburg and James Dial of Ridgely. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Marie Peschke, Joann Dial Wood, Judy Dial Goodman and two brothers, Joel Thomas Dial and Robert Neal. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and began his education and career path, becoming an electrical engineer. He spent many years working as a maintenance manager for many industries, including Colonial Rubber, Olberg Mfg, Holmes Intl, Sara Lee, Bob Evans, Williams Sausage and Odom's Tennessee Pride. He is well remembered for his work and impact as a teacher and mentor through the Newbern Vocational-Technical School. In his spare time, he had a passion for restoring and drag racing cars, trucks and motorcycles. He had a generous spirit and was known as a great man to all.

Claudia "Jean" Conrad, 83 of Ripley, died on Friday December 24, 2021 at the Lauderdale County Community Hospital in Ripley. Mrs. Conrad was born on March 26, 1938 in Ripley. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ray, an infant daughter, her parents, Tom and Geraldine Smith; five brothers, Marvin, Ray, Phillip, Theo and Ronnie Smith. Survivors include her son, Mike Conrad of Henning; a daughter, Penny (David) Criswell of Jackson; three grandsons, David Paul Criswell of Chattanooga, Logan (Ashley) Criswell of Medina and Blake Conrad of Charlotte, TN; three great-grandsons, Landon and Luke Criswell and Lane Stewart; five sisters, Judy Garner, Elizabeth (Roger) Tillman, Charlene (Steve) Pilcher, Ann Peyton, Sharon (David) Russell, all of Lauderdale county, and one brother, Charles Smith. Pallbearers will be David Paul Criswell, Logan Criswell, Blake Conrad, Chad Smith, Chris Peyton, Scott Mathis, Greg Tillman and Justin Russell. Funeral Service will be on Monday, December 27th, 2021 at 1:00 PM. Family visitation is at 11:00 AM with public visitation from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Faith United Methodist Church, Henning, TN with interment to follow at Ripley Memorial Gardens in Ripley. Rev. Jim Peyton will officiate. Jean loved children and made a career out of babysitting for more than 58 years. She not only kept her nieces and nephews but their children as well. Her reputation of taking such good care of children and loving them as her own, insured she always had a wait list of people wanting her to keep their little ones. She loved growing flowers and working outdoors and always had a beautiful yard. She was a huge country music fan and you could be sure she would have the music turned up in the kitchen as she would be making her famous homemade biscuits every morning. She and Ray loved to fish and after catching a mess they would clean them and fry them up right on the creekbank. Her potatoes and onions were the best. Jean was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge group, an avid bowler and was a sales consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics. She is remembered for living a full life.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Wilson, of Dyersburg and her daughter, Amy Ray of Hohenwald, TN, her grandchildren, Jamie Ray & wife Miranda, and Keith Ray, all of Hohenwald, Reign Britton of Lexington, Tn, her great-grandchildren, Tyler & Ethan Ray and her son-in-law, Bill Ray. She is preceded in death by her parents, Welton Allen Redding and Birdie Mae Dennison Redding, her husband and children's father, Leroy Wilson, her husband, John Williams, her son Lance Fuller Wilson and her brother, P.R. He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn, mother and father, Sylvia and William E. Crihfield, and infant sister Rebecca. He is survived by his three children: Dean Crihfield (Jenny), Sarena Coble (Randy), and Lenore Hounshell (Alan), as well as his grandchildren Randi Cook (Chris), William Hounshell, Michael Hounshell, Tamara Hounshell, William "Joshua" Crihfield (Cassandra), and Jessica Socia; one great-grandchild (William Josiah Crihfield); and his sister, Janet Patton, as well numerous nieces, and nephews. His visitation will be held at the Halls Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. The funeral services will be held there on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with a graveside service to follow at Halls Cemetery. William will be greatly missed by family and friends.
