Kenneth Michael "Mike" Mathis, age 70, of Halls passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital of Jackson, TN. Mike was born December 13, 1951 in Crockett County. He is the son of the late Leland Lofton and the late Bobbie Lee (Lovelace) Mathis. Mr. Mike was a retired factory employee of S & R in Ripley. He is survived by his lovely wife: Elizabeth (Broyles) Mathis of Halls, TN two daughters: Mary Ellen (Ralf) Webster, Stacy (John) Walton and one son: Craig Prater, all of Halls, TN; Brother of one sister: Judy (Danny) George of Friendship, TN and one brother: Buck (Robin) Mathis of Halls, TN. Mr. Mike also leave behind 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren whom he loved and cherished. Janice Marie Spoon, age 79, went to be with her Lord on February 7, 2022, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She was born in Finley, TN on May 9, 1942. She was a graduate of Dyersburg High School and attended Union University. While in Dyersburg, she met her husband, Vandel Spoon. She worked for the State of Tennessee at the Department of Children's Services and retired from there after 30 years. After her retirement, she worked part-time at Hilltop House. She was an active member at Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was a member of her Sunday school class and the Young at Heart Senior Adult Group.

Janice, also known as Jan, was born to the late Oner and Lavern Flatt of Dyersburg, TN. She was the wife of Vandel Spoon of 59 years. She is survived by her husband and two children, Richard (Vanessa) Spoon and Amy (Randy) Smith of Halls, TN. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Madison (Jeremy) Ebert of Jackson, TN, Emma Smith and Rylee Spoon of Halls, TN, and one sister, Pat Rice of Jackson, TN. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Littie Katherine Burkhead, age 98, of Dyersburg, TN passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at West TN Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital. She was born on December 14, 1923 in Finley, TN to the late Commie Eugene (C.E.) and Vivian Birmingham Enochs.

On February 2, 2022, our matriarch, our prayer warrior, our sweet mother and MawMaw was called home. She is with her first love, Jesus, and reunited with her precious Big John, the love of her life, and her parents and siblings who she loved so dearly. There are not enough words to tell how much she loved the Lord and her family. Her constant prayer was for all to hear the gospel and know the love of her Jesus. She dedicated her entire life to His service and touched the lives of so many in her 98 years. She loved her decades of teaching Sunday school, prison ministry, and hosting weekly prayer meetings in her home for over 50 years. Her heart was gold, and now she is dancing on the streets of gold. Those who had the privilege of knowing her are forever changed by her love. What a legacy. What a heritage she has given us. What a beautiful life she led, filled with so much love. You can rest now, sweet Littie. Well done, good and faithful servant.

Kenny Thomas Fowler, 42, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. Born April 18, 1979, he is the son of Jerry and Jane Fowler of Dyersburg. Kenny graduated Cum Laude from the University of Tennessee at Martin where he majored in Computer Science and Mathematics. He was a Database Administrator in conjunction with Corporate Office at Kirklands, Inc. where he was employed for over a decade. In addition to working in information technology, Kenny was a savvy investor and was an author for several international publications about investing. Kenny was so young, but he was employed at Dyersburg State for five years before he worked at Kirklands. He worked full-time through his chemotherapy treatment, and bravely fought Blast Phase Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Holy Angels Catholic Church officiated by Father Patrick Hirtz with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Honoring Kenny by serving as pallbearers will be Current and former Colleagues: Matt Nelson, Clint Peery, Bryan Dennison, David Criswell, Jeremy Harrison and Will Carter. Robert "Rambo" Henry

Robert Lee Henry "Rambo" a mentor to many, a friend to all. Who always put God first in his life. Rambo passed away at his home in Halls TN January 29, 2022, surrounded by his loving wife and daughters. Born May 24,1952 in Oakland CA. to Roscoe Earl and Rachel Alice (Rooks) Henry. He was a United States Marine Veteran. He was a retired correctional officer at Fort Pillow State Prison in Henning TN. What really brought joy to his heart and life was his four grandchildren. In his spare time he was a true gamer playing on his play station hours at a time. Robert loved fishing; he would fish until it got pitch dark outside until finally the mosquitoes would run him off. He was a master gardener and enjoyed working in his flower beds. He believed in people more than they believed in themselves. He was always ready to share God's word. Robert took extra enjoyment in taking care of his pets he had through his life. His memory will be kept alive by his adoring eternal wife of 32 years Wendi Gail (Bickers) Henry, devoted daughters Tiffinne Runions of Dyersburg and Chasity (Leon) Roundtree of Halls. Robert's pride and joy was his grandchildren: Landan Lee Roundtree, Payton Benjamin Roundtree, Kylee Hykue Roundtree, Robert "Bobby" Alexander Scott of Halls, Brother William "Bill" Henry, sister-in-law Barbara Henry of Oklahoma and his lab Rambo and cat Midnight. She was born on March 31, 1924, in Dyer County, TN to the late Obie and Mary Long Williams. Early on in life Gladys worked at Sylvania and All Wear in Newbern but the job she cherished the most was being a homemaker. She was known for being a caregiver for all she met and loved spending time with her family. Gladys was a member at Harvest Baptist Church for many years where she was very involved in all church activities.

He is the son of the late Walter Warren and the late Linda Mae (Pipkin) McBroom. He was a retired truck driver for Roadway Express and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Mr. Larry Wayne Fortner, of Friendship, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022 at West Tennessee Healthcare Jackson General Hospital. Born in Memphis, TN on June 15th, 1947, he was polite enough to wait until after the Sunday evening service to come into the world. He was the only child of Franklin Brentwood and Dorothy M. Dixon Roper. Being the only child, to say that he was doted on would be a supreme understatement. By his own admission, he didn't have to walk until he was almost two because someone was always there to carry him.
