She is the daughter of the late Luther and the late Clara (Ayers) Shands. She was a factory employee and a member of Abundant Life Church. Joy is survived by one daughter: Rhonda Wells of Halls, TN and two sons: Woodrow Kirkpatrick III of Ripley, TN and Richard Stafford of Halls, TN,; Sister of four sisters: Juanita Carmack of Henning, TN, Linda Scott of Frog Jump, TN, Pam Brown of Garden City, MO and Darlene Schroeder of Chicago, IL, and one brother: Randall Shands of Halls, TN. She was preceded in death her husband Garland Maners; three brothers Billy Joe Shands, Alvin Shands, and Russell Shands. Joy also leaves behind seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers for the service will be her grandchildren, Josh Milam, Jason Milam, Jayden Milam, Dexter Stafford, Samantha Stafford and Case Kirkpatrick. The funeral will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Halls Funeral Home, 109 N. Church St., Halls, TN. Burial will follow in the Halls Cemetery. He was the owner and operator of G&H Transportation for more than 25 years and had been a trucker for all his life. Joseph was a longtime member and deacon of Hillcrest Baptist Church and was devoted to his church, family and community. He enjoyed traveling and camping. Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Air Force in the Strategic Air Command with the 369th Bomb Squadron.

Jerry Brewer, 80, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, January 22, 2023 at his residence. Jerry was born the youngest of four to Neva and Oscar Brewer on October 18, 1942. In his younger years he proudly boxed in the golden gloves. In 1963 he married the love of his life Caroline Brewer and they built a beautiful life together. They raised 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren. Through the years they had many great adventures water skiing, flying, and dancing. From a very young age, he knew he wanted to be in construction. He started and successfully ran his own construction company, working up until his death. He was always a fighter and he fought a valiant fight to the end.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2023 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Phillip Cook.

Mr. Wright passed away at 5:14 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Brooke Haven Healthcare. It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn his peaceful passing. Harry will be lovingly remembered by his wife and family. He was born April 2, 1940, at Halls, Tennessee, to Harry Whitney Wright, Sr. and Martha Higdon Wright. Harry was known and loved by many for being the man that he was. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor's degree in Agriculture. Mr. Wright was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He worked farming for years with his son, Whitney and was a successful real estate broker, insurance broker and was a certified real estate appraiser for a number of years. Harry loved hunting of all kinds and he always enjoyed introducing young people to hunting. He enjoyed his stories of the woods and experiences and hosting dove hunts with friends and family. His first love and passion was horses; riding, showing, raising, buying, selling, trading, anything horses. From his loving wife: He would tell me at shows"more riding, less talking", my groom, my friend, my cowboy, rest well until we ride again. Happy Trails my love. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Pascoe Wright; his children, Conley and Dee Wright, Elizabeth and Kyle Mahan, April Wright and Chance and Laura Cates; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several cousins. His parents and one son, Whitney Wright III, preceded him in death. Harry will be laid to rest at Halls Cemetery, Halls, Tennessee. She was a retired customer service agent with Verizon and she was a former employee with Sylvania in Dyersburg, being one of the first to be hired and one of the last to leave the plant when they closed. Peggy was a big supporter of Reelfoot Rural Ministries and was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. She attended Union University and on February 19, Peggy and her husband, Curtis would have been married for 68 years. Known as a social butterfly, Peggy loved people and enjoyed gardening.

Pastor Bill was born on April 21, 1938 in Farmington, MO to the late Herbert & Jeanetta Harrington Stevenson. He worked for Teknor Apex in Brownsville, TN for 26 years. Upon his retirement, he went to seminary and later became the pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church where he stated he finally had a job he loved. Pastor Bill was a member of the Dyersburg Noon Rotary, board member of the Jackson Symphony, and worked very closely with Partners in Education in Brownsville, TN. He enjoyed fishing and golfing and his family described him as a man who loved God, his family, his church, and his community.

He worked many years as a carpenter, loved woodworking, and also was an avid coon hunter. He was always devoted to any activity his family was involved in.

Wayne is survived by his daughter, Lisa Carol Sipes, and was lovingly known as "Papaw" by his grandchildren, Cody Hendrix, Jenna Wooten & Holly Sipes, and his great grandchildren, GraceLynn Morgan, Marley Rose Wooten, Maci Beth Wooten and Mason Wooten, expected in January and also leaves his brother, Gene Larry Hendrix, His half-brother, Lee Daniels. Wayne also is survived by his companion, Mary Turnbo, her daughters, Gail Waller & Lorraine Rohleder and also family friend, Angie Meadows. He was preceded in death by his wife, Venda (Brenda) Hendrix; his parents and a sister, Joy Ann Pearson.
