Ms. Lola June Hurst, of Dyersburg, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024 at her home. She was born August 3, 1943 to the late Charlie & Nettie Yance. She worked in a support capacity at the Dyersburg Hospital and also Dyersburg Fabrics. She was a member of the Dyersburg Church of God who is remembered as a loving caregiver and nurturer. She loved to work in her flower garden and enjoyed taking trips to Kentucky Lake with her family.

She is survived by her son, Jimmy Hurst & wife, Mary Jo; her daughter-in-law, Angela Hurst; her brother, Jerry Yance; her grandchildren, Erica Lowery, Amanda Gibson, Michael Hurst & Gavin Hawks; and her great-grandchildren, Cailey Lowery, Caleb Hawks, Aiden Gibson, Jackson Lowery, Lillian Hawks, Abigail Hawks, Bentley Hurst, Harrison & Houston Hurst & Hensleigh Hurst. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Hurst; her son, Jody Hurst; her brother, Harvey Yance; and sisters, Willie Mae Dickson, Marie Permenter & Lucille Yance.

She was a farmers wife and operated Cloverdale Store and Cafe for 36 years, cooking the best hamburgers anywhere. She attended Zion Methodist Church.

Tommy was born October 11, 1955 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Leon & Wilma Hilliard Sims. He was an active member of Lenox Baptist Church where he'll be dearly missed. He loved the Lord and his family. He was a sportsman throughout his life; however, in retirement he enjoyed daily golf games and weekly bowling. His warm smile, wit, and sense of humor drew people to him. His biggest pride was his family. Tommy was married for 51 years to his sweetheart, Debbie Bevill Sims whom he lovingly called "Rose." Tommy loved his son and daughter with all his heart. He taught them the importance of faith, dedication to others, work ethic, sense of humor and how to be an amazing parent.

Born in Miami, FL on September 27, 1937, she is the daughter of the late Reverend David Junkin and Betty Jeanette Smith Cathcart. Nancy was a devoted mother to her children and family. Some of her greatest joys were spending time with her family, friends, church family, her many beloved students, along with her Hispanic families with whom she shared so many experiences and so much love. Celebration of Life will be from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 22, 2024, in the Fellowship Hall of Dyersburg First United Methodist Church, where she was a faithful member. A moment of reflection will be at 3:00 p.m. lead by Rev. Dr. Mary Beth Bernheisel, Rev. Dell King and Rev. Robert Craig.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 13, 2024, at Holy Angels officiated by Father Patrick Hirtz with interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Betty was born on April 24, 1944, to the late James Edgar (Chig) & Virginia (Sis) Holt. Betty was a long-time member and organist for Spring Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed Gospel music. Over the years, she worked in the pharmacy of Parkview Hospital, the Dyer County Election Commission, operated Tickle's Grocery alongside her husband Dan, and more recently as the secretary of Three Oaks Middle School. Betty truly loved spending time with her family, traveling to see her daughters and grandchildren, listening to music, keeping up with the St. Louis Cardinals, and fishing with her husband. Betty is survived by her daughters, Lisa Maas & husband, Steve, of Cookeville, Ginny McCormack of Maryville and Nickie Jowers & husband, Kenny, of Newbern, her sisters Jane Carolyn Heathcott & Sandra Hankins, her grandchildren, Erik Maas, Jenna Tindle, Rylee McCormack, Chase Fulcher & Kirsten Jowers and one great-grandson, Daniel Perry Tindle. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 52 years, Dan Tickle. Visitation will be held Monday, September 2, 2024, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Dyersburg Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., conducted by Bro. James Branscum. She truly loved people and never met a stranger, caring for everyone that crossed her path. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting and sewing.

Baker (Brad) and one son Will Tom Bell II (Stacey); four grandchildren; Ashley Baker Kelley (Jared) of Decaturville, Tenn., Todd Baker (Taylor), Jacob Bell, and Ethan Bell, all of the Bonicord community; two great-sweetheart-grandchildren; Anna Claire Kelley and Walker Graves Baker. He also leaves one sister, Polly Harper (Tommy), also of Bonicord and precious nieces and nephews that he called his own. He was a member and elder of Miller's Chapel church of Christ for many years before joining West Dyersburg church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, John Mack Bell, and one sister, Betty Jane Carpenter.

He is remembered for his love of sharing his knowledge and skills by repairing items for family and friends. He enjoyed time in his workshop tinkering on cars, computers and electronics.

He is survived by his wife, of 42 years, Triana Cooper Hudson, his sons; Jonathon (Jessica), David (Julia) & Joel Hudson, his brother, James Hudson, his sisters; Marlene Laskowski, Vanessa Hudson & Penny Presley as well as several nieces, nephews & great-nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Lemmie Arnel Hudson, his mother, Sally Floyd Hudson Smith and step-father, Donald Smith.

She is the daughter of the late Lester and the late Lola (Hollis) Cooper. She is survived by three sons: Tim (Darlene) Hogue of Horn Lake, MS, Dennis (Charlotte) Hogue of Dyersburg, TN and Lanny (Dean) Hogue of Dyersburg, TN. Imogene leaves behind nine grandchildren; Adam Hogue, Alex (Bronwyn) Hogue, Chad (Charity) Hogue, Brook (Brian) Speight, Ashley (Adam) Page, Anna (Jake) Austin, Heather (Bill) Scallions, Gina (Shane) Dowlen, and Hilliary (John) Howard. She also leaves behind ten great-grandchildren. Imogene is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Hogue. The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 18 at Halls Funeral Home, 109 N. She was a client of the Helen Tucker Center for many years and enjoyed spending time with her friends at the center. She loved participating in the Special Olympics, playing board games with her family, and taking care of her chickens. She is survived by her 4 siblings, Norman Layne Jr. of Gates, TN, William Jeffrey Layne of Coal Valley, IL, Steven Wade Layne of Bells, TN, and Cindy Marie Dunger of Gates, TN, and many other loving family members. Born May 25, 1928, in the Richwoods Community of Dyer County, she is the daughter of the late Ike and Lottie Lewis Reasons. Sue was retired from Sylvania. Sue managed the Darling Shop in Dyersburg for many years. After her husbands death in 1983, she was greeting customers with her beautiful smile and friendliness at Walgreens and DeLoachs Shoe Store. She was a member of East Dyersburg Methodist Church.

Graveside funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2024, at Fairview Cemetery officiated by Reverend Ronnie Turner.

Dr. Lonnie Stuart Crichfield, age 89, of Halls passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024, at his home surrounded by family. Lonnie was born June 8, 1935, in Blytheville, AR. He is the son of the late Edgar Stuart and the late Margaret (McDearman) Crichfield. He graduated from Halls High School in 1953 and went on to graduate from Kansas State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Lonnie Stuart Crichfield retired from the United States Department of Agriculture where he represented the USDA, APHIS, and Veterinary Services for 32 years as a Veterinary Medical Officer. He loved bird hunting, training bird dogs, riding broncs, and fishing. Stuart is survived by his wife: Dotsy Olds Sadler Crichfield; his one grandson: Cody Crichfield; and his right-hand man, Lawrence. He leaves behind stepchildren: Shirley Adams, Carol Sadler, and Dennis (Felicia) Sadler. Stuart also leaves behind seven step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents: Edgar Stuart Crichfield and Margaret McDearman Crichfield, his two sons: John (Wendy) Crichfield and Casey Crichfield and their mother: Marilyn Olds Crichfield, and one step-grandchild: Brad Williams. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she taught Childrens Sunday School class for many years, and later attended Three Oaks Baptist Church. Laura Nell, along with her husband, were co-owners of Ds Nursery. With her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, "Booboo" enjoyed camping and activities with FFA and 4H, showing livestock since 1979.

Darryl was a joy to all who knew him and never failed to make those around him laugh. He was as selfless as they come and would give the shirt off of his back to anyone at the drop of a hat.

Darryl was a fourth-generation farmer and proud Owner and Operator of McGuire Farms and Flying Service. Those who knew Darryl know he was very seldom still, but when he was you can bet his lap was filled with his grandchildren. He loved nothing more than being a HeeHaw to his grandchildren and an Uncle Bubba to his niece and nephew. Darryl enjoyed making memories in the duck blind with his boys and his friends all winter long.

When asked what her goal in life was, Paula would never hesitate to say she always wanted to be a mama. This goal was only surpassed by her joy in being a MeeMaw to her two grandchildren as she anxiously awaited the arrival of the third. Anyone who knew Paula knew she had no greater joy in life than her grands. She was a world traveler, and enjoyed every memory made as she traveled with her family and her girlfriends.
