He was retired as a master tool & die engineer, attended Holy Hills Baptist Church and a member of Mason Grand Lodge of Mississippi #0617. He was a master gardener and chef and avid outdoorsman. Services will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2010 in the Chapel of Curry Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Hallum officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg. He was a retired supervisor for Frazier Roofing, where he worked for 45 years, a member and deacon of Springhill Baptist Church, 32 degree York Rite Mason, he was a Shriner, a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class, had been involved with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 88 for over 50 years, Scouting Honor's bestowed on him were: the Silver Beaver Award, The Wood Badge Award, he received his 50 year scouting pin, and the order of the Arrow Vigil Scout, he was proud to assist his son and grandson to receive their Eagle Scout Awards and he also played Santa Claus on the rooftops at Wheeler Street for many years.
