He leaves his wife of 56 years, Ann Welch Bowers; one son, Mark Bowers (Alesia) of Dyersburg; two daughters, Jane Ann Lineberry (Kevin) and Judy Mascolo (Brian), both of Jackson, TN; eight grandchildren, John Stanley Bowers, Zac Bowers, Nic Bowers, Clay Lineberry, Carter Lineberry, Blake Mascolo, Matthew Mascolo and Kate Mascolo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John L. and Thelma Bowers.

Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always blessed many people by her love of cooking and sewing. In the Korean War, Percy served in the U S Army, 5th Regimental Combat Team, Long Range Recon Patrol attaining the rank of 1st Sergeant, then the Mississippi National Guard and afterwards attended Mississippi State University. He worked as a Mississippi State Tax Agent, Mississippi State Bank Examiner, and a U. S. Federal Bank Examiner.

Celebrating his life are also his daughter and her husband, Ricki and Larry Elks of Jackson, TN and Roland's two sons and their wives --Tommy and Kay Criswell and Shawn and Karen Criswell (all of Dyersburg). Joining in this celebration of the life of this well-loved man are also his grand-children: Renee Bassham, Leigh Anna Veal, Ryan Elks, Joshua Pruett, Leah Jacobs, Selina Purvis, Ashley Stevens, Matt Willis, Jonathan Criswell and Justin Criswell; plus eleven great-grand-children and many loving nieces and nephews.

Roland was born April 30, 1929 in Obion County to Laby and Jettie Criswell. He had eight brothers and sisters. Leaving this world before him was his sisters -- Mildred Whittle; Virginia Suratt and Jewell Higgins and two brothers – Joe Criswell and John Criswell. Surviving siblings are his brother Glen Criswell of Dyersburg and sister Gwen Aycock and Stella June Hopper who are now living in Texas.
